What's the difference between charity and patronizing? Where is the border?

If you pray in Church then you are no better than the hypocite Jews... So, he managed to call 90% of Christians hypocrites AND insult Jews at the same time. He's good...

"And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by men. Truly, I say to you they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room (or closet.) and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret..." (Matthew 6:5-6 RSV).

from genesis 3:14
"And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life"
does this seem at all unfair to any of you christians out there? let's say the genesis is true. we know that it wasn't the nature of the snake to tempt eve. we are taught that it was actually satan in the form of a snake. was god so easily fooled, that he actually believed a talking snake was just a regular snake? and why did he curse all the snake from then on to crawl on their bellies if only one snake disobeyed him? how is this the actions of a fair and just god? i can understand punishing one snake, but it doesn't make sense to punish all of them for the actions of one. does it?

If my eternal salvation depends on believing in god and christ then why does he not reveal himself? Why is up to me to believe without proof? Can I assume that if he does not show himself to save my soul then he probably does not care for me?

If god does love me as much as he does then where was he at times when I was at the hospital? Or when I needed money for college? Why does he think that hell is an appropriate destination for not believing in something that I have never seen, never experienced, or ever met? If I must believe before I see then I ask you again, why doesnt he show himself to save my soul. It seems like god plays kid games with us.

That sort of stuff would never fly between humans. If your father abandoned you for 20 years then showed up out of the blue you would probably dislike him or at least not want anything to do with him. And thats considering that he did show himself, now when we talk about god, I won't learn of his existence until its too late

Note: It says they COULD NOT believe, not WOULD not:

But though He had performed so many signs before them, yet they were not believing in Him.

This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet which he spoke: "LORD, WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR REPORT? AND TO WHOM HAS THE ARM OF THE LORD BEEN REVEALED?"

For this reason they could not believe, for Isaiah said again,

"HE HAS BLINDED THEIR EYES AND HE HARDENED THEIR HEART, SO THAT THEY WOULD NOT SEE WITH THEIR EYES AND PERCEIVE WITH THEIR HEART, AND BE CONVERTED AND I HEAL THEM." - John 12:37-40 nasb.

Is the Bible based on a true story? Is there really a God? Are churches just taking up space? Are the athiest correct? I was just wondering the answers are to these questions. I want to believe, but I would like to have proof of if he (God) does in fact, exist.

I am currently debating whether or not the wiccan religion is right for me. I do believe in magic and that all things are possible and I really don't believe in a heaven or hell...If anyone out there knows much about the wiccan religion please give some good websites to look at online about the modern wiccan religion. Thanx!

The religion that you follow for centuries murdered people for thinking that the earth was round. How can you follow a religion that thought that and murdered anyone who thought otherwise? What else are you not being told?

I read a study on opinions of religions. Even below paganism was atheism. People actually dislike atheism more than Satanism. I was shocked to find this out. Atheism was ranked as the worst religion in American's minds.
Here's my question, why do people hate atheists so much? I don't understand why not believing in God is such a threat.

If so, support your theories with bible related versus.
Or do you believe that Christianity and the investigation of the paranormal can coincide and work better together?
I believe that being a Christian, I can have a better understanding of the research of the paranormal, considering that most people believe that you have to see it to believe it; although I do not "see" God, I believe in Him.

The concept of original sin came up. A number of y'all wrote that babies are not born with sin, but sin after birth--that original sin does not exist. You are left with an issue there.
God destroyed the world you say (Noah) --Soddom and Gommorah etc. In an age without birth control pregnant women were either drowned or immolated destroying the innocent fetus as well. So by destroying the world with pregnant women in it either God does not mind killing the innocent--or else the fetus was not considered to be a human being. which of these is correct, im confused.

By accepting Jesus' death and allowing Him to enter our hearts; we become ' saved.' I prefer to say, " I've come into a personal relationship with Jesus." Being saved isn't a one-time experience. We need to walk daily with Jesus. Attending Mass often, gives us grace to stay close to Jesus. Partaking of the Eucharist, brings Jesus into the center of our very spirit and allows Him to reign within us, guiding us into a life centered in Him.

Truth is, WE ARE SAVED! The very blood that saved that man witnessing on the street is the same blood that has saved you and me! As Catholics we are Christians saved by the blood of Christ! You and I have been reborn by water and the Holy Spirit in baptism. We are fed with Christ's body and blood in the Eucharist. We receive the gift of the Holy Spirit in the Sacrament of Confirmation. We are SAVED and don't let anyone try to tell you that you aren't!

This is what we believe in so how can you say Catholics are not saved?

So many people , here and other places say that God cannot exist because if He did, bad things would not happen- would love to hear some testimonies about God in the midst of problems.
I have a chronic illness that causes pain every day. My hubby has health issues as well and is perm. disabled due to injuries. Other personal problems as well, but I can say without a shadow of a doubt- THAT GOD'S GRACE IS SUFFICIENT!! He is great, even when life isn't.

I just don't understand what is so wrong and immoral about my beliefs. The other night I was with a few people who were visiting my roommate and they had a little bit to drink (as a Mormon, I don't drink, but if my roommate wants to occasionally, I figure that is his choice and not mine) and they asked me if I wanted to drink, and I told them I didn't want to.

We went into small talk, introducing ourselves, where we were from, etc, and I told them that I was going to Utah for Christmas this year to visit relatives. When I said that, one guy got a disgusted look on his face, and said.."Are you...Mormon?" and I was hesistant to tell him that I was. Sure enough, I did tell him that I was LDS and I couldn't help but feel that I was being judged by someone I had just met.

I just don't understand. We all have different beliefs. So what if I believe in Christ a little differently than some people? All I want to be is a good person, and I try my best to be that. Why should I get judged?

Why are you here on this earth if you dont have anyone to answer to for youre deeds? Why is it that if youre destined to go to heaven no matter what you do in this life, that you care to be moralistic? If living in the way of jesus just means accepting hes god and he loves you and he died to save you then not following in his footsteps of moral conduct means you can still go to heaven right, then this life isn't even a test for you right?? so we could all convert to Christianity and then do whatever chaos in the world that we want and still go to heaven, correct? Where is the motivation for being a good moral person with the best behaviour in ChristianitY? I dont want to sound offensive and im sorry if i do.
