The religion that you follow for centuries murdered people for thinking that the earth was round. How can you follow a religion that thought that and murdered anyone who thought otherwise? What else are you not being told?

The Cricket: Look at what the church did to Galileo (extremely well known public person) when he said that the sun was at the centre of the universe and not the earth. They imprisoned him for life, much corruption and death surround Christianity as it fought against science throughout the last 2 thousand years and murdered and/or imprisoned people for simple things like that.

Of course I believe its flat...no one has ever shown me a real picture of a "round" Earth...that's preposterous. Oh I am supposed to believe someone actually went into space and took a picture?? Give me a break...Or am I supposed to believe that using devil's math, some smart guy calculated the shape of the Earth? Please!!!
The earth actually isn't round anyway, it is a geoid...so I would say maybe those Christians putting people to death for thinking the earth was round...might have been right??

First, there is not a single historical incidence of a person being "murdered" by the church for NOT believing the world was flat. There was a famous trial over the issue of whether the earth resolved around the sun. However the person involved in that received only a two week sentence of "house arrest" before his trial to prevent him from skipping the country. He was not murdered, tortured, imprisoned, etc. Get your facts straight, please.
Why did most Christians once believe the earth was flat? Because scientist had been teaching that in schools and unversities for over 3000 years (even BEFORE there was a Christian faith). The church merely went along with the "science facts" of their day.
Believing that world was flat, the church did form some "dogmas", which are interpretations of scripture, that included the idea of a flat earth. But a "flat earth" is nowhere mentioned in the Bible, any of its stories (no body falls over the edge or something) or does it in any way affect Christian doctrine. Rather there are several scriptures which speak of a round earth that hangs in space.
If you do want an example of people being killed for their scientific and mathematical beliefs, do a study some time of the ancient Greeks. There are several incidents of people being nearly drown because they attempted to prove that the number "zero" existed, or because they calculated the circumference of the earth, or like Socrates who was forced to drink hemlock because of his philosophical teachings. These were not religious people, but scientist. So why do you still believe anything science teachings?

People have known the earth was round for a lot longer than Christianity has been around. I believe what you are referring to is the geocentric belief verses the heliocentric belief. Which yes people were burned and murdered for daring to state that the earth was not the center of the universe. I am an Atheist myself, but i like to have my facts straight before I attack organized religion. Gives me more credibility.

it extremely is poetic language indicating that God is immeasurable. You are either a typically stupid and ignorant anti-Christian or a typically dishonest and lying anti-Christian. The Church has NEVER taught as a matter of doctrine that the world is flat. That whole nonsense was made up in a work of fiction in the1800s. Of course, it is seized upon and repeated by the monumentally stupid and monumentally bigoted. Typically anti-Christian, typically ignorant, typically bigoted.
