Do you believe in an afterlife in the company of God himself? Or is this life all we will ever experience? If that is so, why obey rules and try to avoid sin of there is no reward for our efforts of doing right? Do you obey merely just to obey or are there rewards in this life?

I have been dealing with a lot of anger and pain lately concerning the Catholic faith I was raised in, and am looking for a place to process some of it.

Isa 11:6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a { little child shall lead them. }

The other day I was read my Bible.I had come across someting very interesting. It was one of those times where you have read this before, but it was as if you were reading it for the first time.Christians, I know you know what I am talking about.
Intent on trying to get all that I could out of it, I turned a deaf ear to the outside world and began to reread and study.Three of our grandchildren are here with us at present, Paula and I have 14 of them and love everyone of them. While reading I heard my name called time and again.Papa seemed to be all that I was hearing. And then once again I heard the word, Papa?Frustrated by now, I tried with all my might to say, What, as kindly as possible. And then my three year old granddaughter said, "Papa, I love you".Thank You Lord.

I am LDS and was wondering what everyone's favorite talk from general conference was and why. I know that a lot of them applied directly to my life, and I don't really have a favorite. My favorite since joining the church could by How Firm a Foundation by Thomas S. Monson.

I'm not religious, but have often wondered that this world is full of so much hatred, do you think this IS hell and we will go to better places when we die or is that something some of us hope will happen?

I can't wait to worship such a 'loving" god.

Why does anyone think this makes sense?

25God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood.

He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished—

26he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.

pulled me aside after school to "just chat" about religion.
Let me not first that I go to a public school.
Im openly atheist and she said to me," I felt compelled to tell you about my bible lesson yesterday in church."
Then she went on her spill then told me that " she would hate it if I wasnt in heaven with her one day".
So Im not sure what to do.
Shes retiring this year so firing is out of the question.
Im just tired of the teachers always saying something to me.
She even told me that one of my other teachers told her that I was reading The God Who Wasnt There.
She said that since school was out it wasnt a teacher to student deal but more like her just wanting to talk.
Give me some feedback here.

DISCLAIMER: If you are a non-Christian and reading this, please understand that I am sincerely NOT addressing you. (There is no Christian sub-category in R&S)

-
It would seem that MANY of you feel as if “speaking about hell” just “isn’t your calling” from God…

Do you REALLY believe there IS a hell and that non-Christians are doomed to hell?
If not, how can you call yourself a Christian?
-

If a person was serenely floating on a raft and unknowingly headed for a deadly waterfall, would you – on the shore – yell out to warn them?

-
Do you know the story of the rich man in Luke 16:19-31…? He ends up in the gruesome torments of hell…and cries out to heaven asking that the dead beggar, Lazarus, be sent back to earth to WARN the rich man’s brothers of the horrors of hell they are doomed for…

OK, so most of you who answered my last question (at least so far) have admitted that you don't KNOW that there is no god, you can only claim to BELIEVE that there is no god.

Seriously, doesn't this actually make you an agnostic?
(Notice that I have corrected my spelling. Thank you, Secret Agent Man, for pointing out my error.)
Once again, I am braced for some mocking, but once again, all that proves to me is that you are insecure in your atheism. Mockery only makes you look childish, and absolutely nobody is impressed by it. If you do have real answers, I really and truly would like to hear them.

How all the different Versions of the Bible all be the word of God? The NIV and Jehovas Witness Bible and Catholic Bible says in Luke 2:33 that joseph is Jesus Father, when in Fact Jesus was born of the Holy Spirit.

Another one, in the wrong transcripts (NIV, other Bibles) in Isaiah 14:12, it says Lucifer is the morning star, yet in Revelations it says Jesus is the "Morning star".

The King James Bible has the proper scripture, and this is from the only Manuscript that is the word of God. The proof is in the words.

how can Christians SEE this evidence, yet just brush it under the table?

I mean David did not even Kill Galiath in Samual in the NIV. Are people Blind?

if scientists came up with a way to change the sex of a child by some type of injection while the child is still in the fetus stage- would this become more of pro-life or pro-choice?

--- being that the mother could choose if she wants to have a girl or boy. would you consider this selfish, okay, or just plain evil/wrong?

I know its a weird question but I was just wondering.

I have heard of this teaching about one can lose his salvation.

Can the Holy Spirit (God) make a mistake?
Can someone be regenerated by God, then unregenerated?
Can we become a New Creation in Christ, just to be turned inside out?

please explain this to me..everyone says that religious scripture says that God is against gays, yet God loves all.
a believer tried to explain this to me saying that, the gays are not suppose to ''act on it'' how can you not be who you are
if you live a good life and treat people the way God has instucted you,how can God possibly be against these people
also God created everything, everyone therefore God did in fact create gay people
how then would he call them sinners for being what he made them to be....granted some choose it(wild side)...but im talking about the ones who were born very feminine/masculine..and are the opposite sex,,those people cannot help it!
