Let's assume that there IS a God, since if there weren't, there could be no Heaven and Hell.

Heaven and Hell are commonly believed to be the two choices of where one's spiritual soul will spend Eternity after journeying through the material world. The concept is that we will be judged based on actions and beliefs during our lifetimes, and this one-time judgment will determine where we spend Eternity.

Now, back to God... either he is "fair and just", or it really doesn't matter anyway. If he randomly assigns people to Heaven or Hell, or does some kind of cosmic coin-toss, it makes no difference at all whether He exists, and He could very well invent new places besides Heaven and Hell to send people. No, we have to assume He is fair and just.

Now, if we imagine that our lifetimes are a single grain of sand, all of the beaches in the world still don't add up to Eternity.

Now, I ask you, what is "fair and just" about deciding where our Souls spend Eternity based on our conduct reacting to the illusions of the Material world for a mere lifetime?

I believe in God, but there's no logic to support the concept of Heaven and Hell.

What on earth is going on here? I've just read through some of the answers you got and it appears we're in a panto'.
" Oh, yes there is...Oh, no there isn't!
I really can't imagine how your question can be answered either way. Certainly not in this manner, that's for sure. Perhaps we could try "two falls or a submission? Or is this getting too silly?

To the Yeses. That's a belief and belief is not evidence
To the No's. Lack of belief does not negate possibility.

Maybe God doesn't exist, but...who knows what the future holds?

Yes and there is a lot of proof that God, Heaven and Hell excist THE BIBL!! =)

The Bible talks about many many things.

But:
ALL history information in the Bible is true.
ALL science information in the Bible is true.

The Bible says there was a flood. And we see lots of proof. Like people find whales in the mountains!

The Bible says Jonah got swallowed by a big fish and three days later the fish spat him out.

Real people have been in a whale's stomach and survived!

Lots of evidence is found,

We can tell there really is a God because of

Creation (newsflash there's no such thing as a big bang)
Conscience (you wrong from right don't you)
Commandments (the ten commandments are written in your heart)
Christ (Jesus Christ died for you! So you can go to Heaven)
Christians (Christians are to be the light of the world)

I dare every one to check this out!!!
These are verses in the Bible that talk about newly made discoveries about Earth and they were in the Bible 2000 years before! Coincidence? I think NOT.

Yes there is a hell, it's called a haven holiday (did you see what I did there folks?).

And as for the question of God existing, then surely because we debate then surely he exists no?

There is a HEAVEN (not haven) and there is a HELL, just as sure as you are living and breathing on earth. And YES, God does exist.

Sometimes you just have to believe. If you read the Bible, a lot of the passages make sense of how creatures came to be. I believe that there is a God and that there is a place called hell. Go to church every now and then and maybe you will start believing in Him. Also there have been a lot of miracles that the human cannot explain which ultimately means the work of God.

In fact, the term ‘Heaven’ - capitalized - has a shared meaning in Islam and all the other revealed religions. Primarily, it refers to that beautiful abode where, those who believe in only God, humble themselves to worship Him, do the good and avoid the evil, are promised to go after the end of this worldly life. In this sense, it is the synonym of the "Gardens of Paradise", which is the equivalent of the Arabic word: Jannah. Those blessed dwellers will live there in an everlasting life.

This term, in Christian theology, may also mean a name of God the All Mighty. Again, in the sufist (mystic) tradition of both religions, this term means an ecstatic state of communion with God.

Thus, it is obvious that all the connotations of this word are spiritual and highly exalted, above the human level of worldly experience. It is a transcendental space that the believers, though never experienced, yet are able to conceive through the detailed description that God has supplied them with. This is in order to arouse their incitement and longing for it. It is difficult to quote the many verses in Qur'an that describe Heaven, as these are so many!

It might be sufficient to know that every pleasure in that Heaven is unparalleled to that in the worldly life. It is as the prophet of Islam, Muhammad (pbuh), described to enclose:

"What no eye has ever seen and no ear has never heard and no human heart has ever perceived." (Narrated in the book of compiled hadiths by Imam Muslim.)

Its food, houses, rivers, pleasures… everything is beyond imagination! And because the believer is always attached to the spiritual more than the sensual, even in Heaven, God has made the ultimate ecstasy for the believers there, is to look at His Holy Countenance. Such is a blessing, from which believers never get bored or even get accustomed to, despite familiarity.

Because this term – Heavens - refers to the place and condition of utmost happiness, it was borrowed or say, "hijacked", by those whose philosophy of life is a mere hedonistic one. I think that their choice of this word in particular is evidence, in itself, of their awareness of the model image of happiness and bliss.

But the gap is quite wide, between the model image and this worldly application of pleasure, which is definitely associated with a pain or discomfort of some kind, or at least with the sense of temporality or boredom. For this reason, those hedonists rely on a "carp diem" style of life. This is a Latin expression, which means: "live day by day". This would mean that you must exhaust your pleasure every day for fear that there may not be a second opportunity tomorrow!

If you need to know more about the description of Heaven, from the Islamic point of view, I recommend that you buy a CD of the Qur'an, the Muslim Holy book, and just search for the words "Heavens" and "Gardens of Paradise". Here, you will know much about the rewards that await the believers there and more important, the requirement for a believer to attain them. Such requirements would look simple compared to the reward, and can - with the mercy of God - be reached if one can persevere in obeying Allah and practicing true Islam.

Thank you again for your question and please keep in touch.

Salaam.
