Hi!
I am a teenage girl who's family is all Protestant. But the fact of the matter is that we never go to Church. I know this may sound odd to some of you, but I really really want to be a part of the Catholic faith and go to this one Catholic church in my small town which I haven't gone to since I was like five. I dont know how my mom will react to this considering she's not really "into" religion and all that. And Im not entirely sure how I can become a Catholic when I am so lost when it comes to all of this stuff. One of the girls in my school is Catholic and tries to tell me things like how all Catholics pray 5 times a day, they wash their hands before they pray, they read the Bible, especially the Rosary, etc. Im not sure if she is right about all these facts so thats what Im here for. I just really want to know how I can become a Catholic and what guidelines do I have to follow to stay that way? Thank you for all who answer this. Its much appreciated! :-)

"If the Christian has discovered a new means of perception, I am perfectly willing to listen to his claim, provided that he is willing to argue for his assertion...He claims to have experienced God, but refuses to explain the process by which he, a physical organism, experienced this supernatural being. Has he discovered a new sense? Can it be tested? Can he explain, not only what he claims to know, but how he acquired this knowledge?"

alot of the questions ive read answers on in here make me mad and sad. some of these religious people are blind, no wonder they are called sheep, just being led to the slaughter house. its absurd when people say unless they're christian you should speak to them or you should try to convert them, or people who can't think for themselves so they have to quote a book, a book that isn't even relative to most of lifes worries and questions and modern situations. has religion just blindfolded people and the real point of life, we are all the same, we all come from the same source, and no religion can claim other wise.

I am stunned that someone would actually say and believe that. I happen to know that kids are being taught lies in the textbooks about evolution, in the sense theories are presented as fact to them (that is abuse) and the fact that discipline is rarely allowed and bullies get to pick on kids mercilessly in school because everyone fears discipline, that is abuse. But I never realized people think that giving someone hope in eternity through Jesus Christ and his incredible love for them would be considered abuse. That just tells me the world is completely upside down and Jesus is coming soon. what do you think?

My real question is:
'How is the Bible absolute evidence'?

If someone aks for proof that God exists, why do Christians refer to the Bible? The Bible is NOT evidence that God exists. The Bible is a series of scriptures compiled together, but mere ink should not count as 'proof'.

Face it, if the Bible never existed, Christianity would cease to exist. Therefore, you can't say everything is done by the work of God. Agreed?

One word only...

Long diatribes, lectures, and lengthy explanations put you out of the running for best answer by default.

Originality is what counts here. Not the same old stale quip that has plagued Y!A R&S for so long...

not to do it, then all they have to do is not to do it (dont forget not getting divorced!), why do they care so much about what other people do if they are the ones who say: "we are all sinners"???
So, if we are all sinners and humans are imperfect and sin let them choose their sins, what is it for christians what other people do?

Is that why Christians consider little people an abomination before the Lord and children of Satan? Why is it when the pastor is giving a sermon and little people enter the Church the pastor and the entire Church fall silent as if the sermon is damned and the congregation start looking around until an elder ask the little people to leave? What kind of Church is that?

hang around R&S when they are constantly exposed to the concepts and ideas of: God, Jesus, Jesus Christ, Jesus Our Lord and Savior, Christ, Christ the King, The Holy Ghost or The Holy Spirit, Jesus King of Kings, The Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, Almighty God, Blessed Trinity, Triune God, Jesus King of our hearts and minds etc. etc.? :)*

*Btw, I want to make it crystal clear that (obviously) not all atheists are cynical and blasphemous people. But, there are some here and we all know who you are so I wont mention nicks at this point.
