why are people so blind?

alot of the questions ive read answers on in here make me mad and sad. some of these religious people are blind, no wonder they are called sheep, just being led to the slaughter house. its absurd when people say unless they're christian you should speak to them or you should try to convert them, or people who can't think for themselves so they have to quote a book, a book that isn't even relative to most of lifes worries and questions and modern situations. has religion just blindfolded people and the real point of life, we are all the same, we all come from the same source, and no religion can claim other wise.

wow i don't think anyone got my point, but nice try. the pain and suffering isn't an excuse for why god isn't there i wasn't even saying that so that was pointless, pain and suffering is a part of life, not a part of religion. the bible holds about as much truth as any other bible, so whats that mean.

and i wasn't even "bashing" any book

i just don't think the christian bible or any bible is 100% truth and to see people be rude and turn people away cause there are not what religion they are is just absurd, there is so much more to life than the bibles of the world can explain, thats all.

I'm new to this , This will be my first post.
My personal belief is that the bible was not written by God, but by man. Therefor I have a very time believing it.

There is one thing that is a common denominator in all religions,
There is a type of God, Afterlife.

It doesn't matter if you follow religion , or are just a believer in something more powerful than ourselves. If we were to Know for sure, I think we would have been born with the Knowing.
People have to use some common sense with all this Bible talk.
Adam and Eve were said to have 7 sons? So that would mean that they all had to mate with Eve? Doubt it.

I have been wondering if God might be female because of the FACT, that all life starts as female. and at a certain stage, stays female or changes to male.
Just my thinking outside the box.

Religion has started so many wars, has separated so many people in so many ways.

I don't think it matters what you believe, as long as you are open to , "There is something out there that is greater than us"
I could go on and on but I'll spare everyone the long post, lol.

This is one of the best explanations of why God allows pain and suffering
that I have seen. It's an explanation other people will understand.

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed.
As the barber began to work, they talked about so many things and various
subjects.

When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said:
"I don't believe thatGod exists."

"Why do you say that?" Asked the customer.

"Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't
exist. Tell me,
if God exists, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned
children?
If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can't imagine
loving a God who
would allow all of these things."

The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want
to start
an argument.

The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop. Just after he
left the barbershop,
he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed
beard. He looked
dirty and un-kept.

The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the
barber:
"You know what? Barbers do not exist."

"How can you say that?" Asked the surprised barber. "I am here, and I am a
barber.
And I just worked on you!"

"No!" The customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist because if they did,

people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside."

"Ah, but barbers DO exist! What happens is, people do not come to me."

"Exactly!" Affirmed the customer. "That's the point! God, too, DOES exist!
What happens,
is, people don't go to Him and do not look for Him. That's why there's so
much pain and
suffering in the world."

The blind are the ones that cant see the truth , just as the deaf dont hear the truth. The quote from the bible states "they see with blind eyes and hear with deaf ears" Sheep would rather follow a shepheard that keeps them safe 24 /7 then a cowboy who leads and pushes a heard to slaughter . I wish I had an answer to your question. Sometimes, I listen to a Christian speak, one that would demand proof of evolution or infidelity or any other claim. And I am mystified that their religion does not undergo the same scrutiny.

well i pretty much agree with you. but if i can apologise for them (which i don't expect them to appreciate), i think they're not so much blind as seeing with different eyes, and unwilling or unable to acknowledge that anyone else could see things differently. try not to make the same mistake.
