please explain this to me..everyone says that religious scripture says that God is against gays, yet God loves all.
a believer tried to explain this to me saying that, the gays are not suppose to ''act on it'' how can you not be who you are
if you live a good life and treat people the way God has instucted you,how can God possibly be against these people
also God created everything, everyone therefore God did in fact create gay people
how then would he call them sinners for being what he made them to be....granted some choose it(wild side)...but im talking about the ones who were born very feminine/masculine..and are the opposite sex,,those people cannot help it!

God is not against the gay people. he is though against homosexuality. God does love all but he hates sin.

your christan friend is wrong by the way.

He is not against the people he is against the sinful life they are living.

God created people but not the sin.

he can call them sinners cause free will lets you choose what to do with your life.

just cause someone doesnt fit the normal view of their sex doesnt mean God made them wrong or gay. i am a guy but i dont do much manly stuff. God actualy made everyone by hand wich means he knew exacticly what he was doing.

bty, homosexuality is a choice. there is no such thing as the gay gene. some people have a ginetic disposition to it just like some people are more likly to be angry or passive or loud or energetic but in the end its a choice.

PEOPLE!!!!
A homosexual (emphasis on the sexual part) is someone who has acted on sexual desires with another person of the same sex.
If there WERE a god, and the bible WERE his word, than any homosexual is/was a sinner.
Also, a god wouldn't create a sinner. Therefore, a god would create a person and the person would decide to be gay. They could help it......if it were wrong.
You sound like someone who was raised religious and is hesitant to admit you just don't believe in anything.
Make the step, everything else makes more sense without religion.

I can appreciate and agree with a lot of what you said aj, but I have to disagree on you saying its a choice. I don't believe it is. As long as I can remember I always had a reaction to liking guys and still to this day still do. Yes I have acted on it, but I can tell you its been six yrs that I have. I know im attracted to men I just don't act on it because the urge to isn't there. Im sorry im ranting.

I think your message about god and gays would really be a lot stronger if you left the opinion about choice out of it. if you don't experience it personally it really cant be something that someone can comment on or try to point it out as a fact.

The Catholic Church and the mainline Protestant denominations (Episcopalian, Methodist, Presbyterian) have a fairly advanced dialogue going on internally about this and here's the upshot. If homosexuality is sinful then it is that person's unique sinful nature they must master - each of us has different tendencies. The other side of the argument is that Paul did not understand homosexuality and that there is no real reason to go believing about it as hed did - he got slavery and women's rights wrong too, after all.

I am in the second camp, but the first camp has a further argument that makes it hard to refute easily: in order to stand up to the currently popular Zeitgeist we have to ensure that our religion doesn't allow the erosion of values and morality outside the walls to permanenetly change what is inside. And thus the religion is designed to be conservative and slow to change in order to preserve its integrity over great lengths of time. We must try and balance real moral advancement with mere popular ideas.

The conversation within these Churches is a very mature and caring one and the Anglican (episcopalian) and much of the Methodist churches make it s apoint to be very loving and accepting of gay people. We've had gay vestry members (like elders) be democratically elected in our Episcopal congregation, for example.

Number one, God would never make anyone gay when he considers homosexuality an abomination. God said in Deuteronomy, if a man lies with a man the way he lies with a woman, it is an abomination and the two should be put to death. Now if this were a direct command from God, why would he then make people who were homosexual? People are not born liars, thieves or murderers. And people are not born gay. That is a lifestyle that is either introduced to them at a young age though many doorways (rape, rejection, molestation etc) or it is a perversion, that when introduced, the person accepts it as their lifestyle. IT IS A CHOICE. It is not in any way shape form or fashion, in a person's dna to be a homosexual. The type of sex you like or the type of person you are attracted to is a choice.

Make no bones about it, God is against homosexuality of any kind. Does he love all people? Yes, because He sent His son, Jesus to die for your sin, and that includes the sin of homosexuality. You don't have to give into nor act on the sin of homosexuality. Jesus died so that you could be set free from it. But you must admit it is a sin first. You must not try to cover it up just because you think it is who you are. Ask God to reveal to you whether or not He made you gay. He will tell you the truth always. Deliverance is available through the cross of Jesus Christ. But you must want deliverance, it wont ever be forced on you.

God did in fact create man and woman. For those who say that God created homosexuals is a lie from hell and is completely an evidence of one who does not know God or His Word. God didn't create a man or a woman to be homosexual any more than He created people to be serial mass murderers or child predators, etc. Each and every person is who they are today because of their own choices. Everything we say and everything we do is a by-product of who we are. The Lord is not against any man. He is against sin and anyone who harbors sin in their lives with no conviction to repent / change. God is love, but that does not give you or me a license to sin. Using "God is love" as a crutch to endorse what God calls "sin" will wind you in hell. People need to stop this insanity of speaking their own opinions for God, and instead read His Word because He does not mince words. He says what He means and means what He says. Sinners might not like it or understand it, but that will never reduce the fact that God's Word is the ONLY word that counts in the eyes of eternity.

Honey EVERYBODY is born with some temptation to sin.
There are pathological liars who were that way from their childhood. However, nobody would approve of lying as an alternate life style.
Again, there are kleptomaniacs who were that way from their very baby hood. You can say that they were raised badly...and perhaps you have a point...but the fact still remains, the urge to pick up some little bauble is irresistible to them. It doesn't have to be anything expensive or valuable, either. Again, nobody would suggest that the laws be changed to allow for their differences.
Their are people whose sexual attraction is for the innocence of childhood...of course, nobody would think to condone that! Or people who are strangely attracted to animals...
Then, too, there are serial killers who have been sadistic all of their lives. They seem to have a "natural" urge to kill. Often they start with animals...perhaps household pets. We rightly believe that these people need to be "put away" to protect society...but nobody can explain why they have this horrible quirk in their nature.
Should we speak of people who are married, but have consistent attractions to other people? Or who can't stay away from pornography? This is so common, nobody actually thinks about it, but it is also sinful in the eyes of God.
The thing is, there is real help for all of these people. Jesus stands ready and willing to forgive anyone who comes to him with real sorrow for their sin, which would include a real desire to put it away from them.
Christians may be overreacting to homosexuality...but perhaps that goes both ways? Just maybe it is the "in your face" attitude of the homosexual community that is making them so angry?
There is little point in maintaining that "these people cannot help it"...neither can most of the people listed above. They were "born that way". Temptation to sin is not exclusive to homosexuals...but it is still sin, no matter how you look at it.

In College I was asked to do a paper on any subject that was controversial. I chose the subject of homosexuality. And mind you, at this time I too was a fundamentalist Christian who refused to belive that God would send gays to hell!

Dr. Money was a man who wanted to prove that gays did not have to be sexually assaulted by the opposite or same sex to become gay, that they COULD ACTUALLY BE born GAY.

To prove that concept he used sheep, because they are the closest animal to human body.
He proved that by extracting a certain substance form the the embryonic sack, he produced male sheep who were sexually attracted to male sheep, and females to females.( I have forgotten the substance he extracted, but you can Google "Dr. Money" and read it for yourself.}

Many children have been born with this certain substance lacking or minimized.
Yet Christians expect me to believe that their god (who they made in THEIR image, who condones slavery, and incest) is loving/vengeful,promotes peace/war, wants me to treat gays with disdain?
This is mans writing in the Bible, again creating a false god in their book, pawning him off to be the true God!
They made a human god who told them to kill off many tribes,
who later states in writing on stone stone, "Thou shall not kill."?
Now, am I to believe God was indecisive? No. I am however to use the common sense God gave me, and know that man has manipulated the scrolls of old to fit man's selfish, fearful need, to control.

It is no more my place to judge the gay community, than it is to judge anyone else. Nor wil I believe the true God would direct ANY of us to believe that gays are condemned to a life of torment in a endless inferno! After all, isn't that what they experience here with all the fundies? Judgement according to a book that has many holes in it's concept?

And by the way, I am not gay, I just hate a non-truth being supported by a book of many truths, (but much more non-truths) to be the sound reasoning behind irrational Godless behavior!

There's so much about the bible that fundies don't investigate, yet try to shove down the throats of others.

Study history! Rather than be indoctrinated by "They", read all you can about Holy Wars-(what an oxi-moron!)
The one below will blow your mind...

In an attempt to meld the Jewish Religon with the Pagan religion, mosytChristians of today do not even know that the date of EVERY Pagan holiday is what they celebrate!

And they know not that the Pagans at the time of Jesus worshiped their Gods (Osiris, Adonis, Mithras,) who had been born of a virgin, changed water into wine, was crucified. rose from the dead, brought the daed back to life....
This is the VERY reason Pagans were killed, because, they refused to believe in the fundie god!
The Roman's kept records of everything. They did record a Nazerean named Jesus being crucified. From there the lie began.!
At the time, the name Jesus was as common to them ans John is to you and I today.

And lets not forget that the original pictures of what the fundamental Christians of today call Mary/Jesus, are actually Isis/Horus (Horus being the son of Isis.)

You are so right... God created gays, loves them, knew they would be gay, therefore being God would NOT condemn them to eternal fire! It wouldn't make sense would it?
As much of man's Bible does not...

When reading the Bible, ask God for understanding, and remember, He gave us common sense to use. You know in your heart no matter what others say, if a statment defies what God is really about.
Re-read the Sermon On The Mount. you will clearly see that the prophet Jesus was telling you Not to be a part of man's religion.

Ask and it will be answered
Knock and the door will be opened
Seek and you shall find
He didn't say read one book and swallow illogical concepts!
Blessed Be.

I don't believe in God and I don't care what the bible does or does not say about anything.

But, God loves all, in the Christian context basically means that God loves all, regardless of race or past history, so long as they follow his not very consistent commandments.

People that don't follow his commandments or forget to plead forgiveness after they break those commandments, go to hell and burn forever, when they die. Be they Gay, Atheists, People that swear etc. It does not matter if that person was a gay atheist who swore at corrupt officials and spent their whole lives helping other people, they will burn in the same pit as the wife battering bully.

The trick to pull off, if you are a Christian, is to say, in prayer, I am nothing but a sinner in the eyes of God, please forgive me, just before you die and you'll then go to heaven, even if you were that life long wife battering bully. Hail Mary! Where's my Beer! I love you, I mean it this time!

It's simply how people validate their own prejudices. If that were not true they would be equally up in arms about divorced and re-married people. That is also a sin in their religion.

God does love all people, that's why the bible does not say that being gay is a sin. Homosexual activity, however, is without question a sin. If you understand the Theology of the body, and how God made us in His image you will also understand why homosexual sex, just like heterosexual sex outside of marriage, is wrong. Technically God also created people who are pedophiles, but no one would question that God does not want them to act on their desires. Those two are not exaclty the same, but they do share many things in common.
