Am I supposed to tithe if it leads not being able to save enough:
1. for a retirement plan?
2. for a reliable but NOT new car?
3. to ensure my wife is able to return home once a year to visit her family?

No where is it in God’s plan for me to be unable to take care of my needs or provide for appropriately for my family. Is it?

if you have seen Me, you have seen the Father? Could this Scripture explain it all?

I Timothy 6:14-16 says, that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ 's APPEARING, which He will MANIFEST in His own time, He who is the blessed and ONLY Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who ALONE has IMMORTALITY, dwelling in UNAPPROCHABLE light, whom no man has SEEN or can SEE, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.

Here's a fresh idea. Religionists are always making the accusation that 'atheism' is a 'religion'... so, why don't we just embrace that idea, and engage them on their own turf? The goddess 'Athe'... divine patroness of knowledge, reason and critical thinking. Since Atheists already outnumber Jews, there should be no problem in attaining tax-exempt status... nobody could dismiss 30 million 'believers' as a mere cult. Surely, some christians will make the accusation that we can't 'prove' that 'Athe' actually 'exists'... but that argument can easily be defeated by reference to their own play-book... although in this case, 'exist' would only be in the sense of an abstract idea... like 'Logos'. We could even have 'Saints'... Darwin... Einstein... Paine... Bacon... etc.

There should be a figurehead... 'Pope' is already take. How about "The Freakin' Deacon"? We could have an election... the obvious candidates would be Dawkins... Dennett... Harris... Hitchens... maybe a few more.

on the history channel, I watched this program about the last of the godfathers mob familes in italy apparent like years ago 80's 70's the last of the biggest crime familys came to an end in italy their was lots of destruction going on because of war between the familys the police didnt and couldnt do nothin, they were never cought, then the pope said during that that let these crime families repent or let Gods hand punish them, after the popes speech one by one the God fathers of the crime familes were arrested until all of them were caught or killed. I thought that was kind of weird that they were gettin away with all that until the pope said somethin, then all of a sudden they all fell makes no sense , a long time ago during the templer age, the templers were all executed , before the leader of the templers were executed his last words to the pope and king was in 2 days I shall see you both at a tribunal before God. in 2 days time both the king and pope died,

What do you think is better?

Doing something good because you will be judged later on?
Or, doing something good because you genuinely want to?

I have been having this debate with Christians who don’t seem to understand this very well. Why would someone Not Kill, Not Steal, Not cheat on his/her husband/wife...etc..etc. because “God” is watching them and told them not to and NOT because they don’t want to hurt anybody and/or they know how it feels to have these things done to them and would not wish that on anyone else.

Do you ever ask yourself what your motive is for being a good person?

How can a religion that promotes violence to Jews and paedophilia be respected

QUOTES from Quran

The standard Quranic reference to Jews is the verse [Qur'an 2:61].[29] It says:

And abasement and poverty were pitched upon them, and they were laden with the burden of God's anger; that, because they had disbelieved the signs of God and slain the Prophets unrightfully; that, because they disobeyed, and were transgressors

Jews transformed into apes and pigs
The Qur'an refers to some Jews being punished by God and transformed into apes or pigs, in Suras [Qur'an 5:60],[Qur'an 2:65], and [Qur'an 7:166]:[22]

And well ye knew those amongst you who transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath: We said to them: "Be ye apes, despised and rejected

Is persecution OK as long as you are on the giving end?

This is in response to someone who said christians are persecuted daily on R&S. Guess you can dish it out, but can't take it.

My wife told me I had to give up drinking beer. She said it was too expensive.
Then, I noticed that she'd spent $65 on makeup last week.
So I asked her why I had to give up stuff, but she didn't?
She said she needed that makeup to look pretty for me.
I told her "that's what the beer's for too".

She's not coming back, is she?

I once inadvertantly upset an Anglican lay member by calling them a 'Protestant' but where I come from members of C of E congregations refer to themselves as 'Protestants'.This lady said "We are all Catholics , SOME of us just happen to be ROMAN CATHOLICS !"
I always thought Anglican meant C of E is this not the case? Are they similar like Methodists and the United reformed church ?

with three hands and eyes in the back of his head (every parent and teacher knows these are needed so surely they will evolve eventually) any way this evolved life form will be wondering through the jungles of lower Manhattan (global warming don’t cha know) and coming upon the remains of the Empire State Building and its surrounds will deduce the only logical conclusion. That these did indeed evolve from the brick he found laying in the street a few blocks back. I mean that is only logical isn’t it? There’s not a lot of difference in that scenario than in someone looking at a structure so complex as DNA, and saying “yeah its here by chance nothing but random events in nature brought this into being.” And you say we are delusional.

It's easy to understand why it is benificial for primordial man ('cavemen,' if you will) to believe in God - they found that they could outwit many other species with their intelligence. With being at the top of the food chain comes a false sense of Theism, I would argue. Early man looks at other animals and their plights and it seems that he has been placed there - a world designed for him. But how did this help evolution in Homo Sapiens? Well, it gives man morale, and perhaps helps us in old age to look after our extended family in order to praise the false God.

But what about today?

Is it still genetically natural to believe in God, like primorial humans?

Or are Atheists (like myself) modern genetical freaks?

Is it still beneficial in evolutionary terms (to spread our genes prolifically) to be religious or spiritual?
