the serpent was Satan. HE deceived Eve the same way he deceived today.

Make them doubt Gods word then they doubt God and then they sin and then they fall.

In the original Hebrew it's called Nechesh (NChSh).

The interesting thing about this is that this name has the value in Hebrew Gematria of 358, as does the word Messiach. The implication is that the Serpent is actually the Redeemer. This tradition was held by the Ophites, an early Christian Gnostic sect that identified the Serpent in Eden with Christ, and vilified the "Lord" who punished Adam and Eve as the Demiurge, the creator of the illusion of the material world.

That so call snake was not a snake it was an upright creature that could talk & walk. anything from Gen 1:1 to Gen 3:14 that upright creature could talk & walk.Too many religions try to make him a snake fom day one, Forget that theory. Not until Gen.3:14 did Gd stripped him & his helpers also and any children they had God stripped them from their arms & legs & then God says & not before Gen. 3:14 Thou shall go upon thy belly, Now how can he go upon his belly if he is already a snake, Something to think about. Now the name of that snake after the curse is the serpent, the same name he had before the curse.

Satan took the form of a snake, is was just a disguise like when he appears as an angel of light, another disguise. There is no "own name" for the snake, you can apply any of Lucifer's names or titles:
"dragon"
"ancient serpent"
"devil"
"Satan"

The mythological stories in every religion and holy books are included to convey some good and valuable thoughts. But people take these stories as true and cannot reach the real thought underlying the story. Science has now clearly established that MAN has evolved from apes. The ape species had females and males, so, naturally, females and males of MAN have evolved together. The Biblical story that Male human was created first and the female human was created from his rib is not correct scientifically as well as spiritually.

The serpent is not named.

The idea that the serpent was posessed by Satan is an addition to the Bible that is not supported by the original authors. God made the serpent "more subtil."

No, no name. Sorry. Actually the translation really means serpent, so it may not even be a snake as we think of one.

Lucifer- The Snake was not possessed by Satan- It was Satan. I think calling him a snake was really more symbolic than anything. Lucifer is Satan.
