I have reasons for thinking why that realization either is growing at a slow pace, or is doing so explosively. But I won't give them now, because I'm interested in seeing how **you** are perceiving the **rate** of our progress away from bigotry. And **why** you perceive that rate as you do.

*quotation marks are there to let the Christians of this forum know that I know that you guys don't consider anybody who is a terrorist a real Christian so please don't flame with things like "no real christians are terrorists!!!"...

where he said Catholics are not true saved Christians.

Is this typical?

Do people not realize that if it weren't for Roman Catholics they would not even have a bible, Trinity doctrine and many other basic tennants of Christian faith?

In 325AD as part of the Nicene Creed, all these basic doctrinal things were agreed upon by the first Cardinals. They sifted out which gospels to put in the bible and how they should be ordered and interpreted. If it weren't for them, you could have the Gospel of Phillip or many others in your bible right now, which said Jesus was just a man, not God.

So if you believe they were Divinely guided enough to give you the Christian doctrine and bible you have, how can you call them "unsaved"?

same god. This obviously presents some serious problems for the Fundies of all the different religions. And it necessitates the following question: With all the different religions, there can be only two possibilities as to how many are valid....one or none. Which is it?

I asked the people who converted to Catholicism, but the Catholic-bashers took it as an opportunity to bash the Catholic Church. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AgkD37ryQvjhZ_NQgDNhzuvsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20070926134137AAPxuxe

This may seem strange, I will continue anyway.

I am a Deist, and I am critical of organised religions.

Take Asatru beliefs for example, in a way I feel their gratitude to their Deitys is extremely well placed, and many other aspects appeal to me by nature almost. I just don't believe it.

From my very limited knowledge of Buddhism it seems extremely fair to me, in terms of life and death consequences. And the peaceful ideals are very eloquent.

Atheism I find very logical, brave and beneficial for humanism and our understanding of the world because these people generally still want answers.

Can you give me your feelings towards other belief systems you find admirable in some way?

A few years ago, a young guy I know was committed to the psyche ward of the hospital I was at. Nice enough fella, but definately got problems. A couple of the nurses there tended to discuss Christianity with him, and one of the doctors had nice chats with him about Islam. Apparently, from what I was told, a pushy Christian nurse was transferred to the ward. He started getting confused and nervous while the nurse ranted out her beliefs. The fella became very agitated and the nurses told her to stop. She continued. He then became vocal, and started to pace. She kept pushing. Long story short, she pushed his buttons and he destroyed the entire common section of the ward, put two nurses in the hospital and took down 4 guards and 3 county police officers before they got him under control. All charges against him were dropped, and the nurse was fired. Had it been any other subject, do you think the nurse would have kept pushing, or dropped the subject and allowed the patient to calm down?

Okay, some people gave me grief over my last question, but I won't give up. Why is it so easy to believe that "big bang" theory and eviloution and it's so hard for some to believe that God created everything? And why is it so hard to believe that Jesus died for all, and all you have to do is accept Him?

Every person on this earth has a soul that will live for eternity, either in Heaven or Hell. My prayer for each and every person is that they will accept Jesus and escape Hell. It is real, you must have a child like faith, so for the one who asked if I was twelve, thank you.

I've read that both nuns and sisters take a vow of poverty along with other things. But, there is a Catholic "Sister" who teaches at my college (a Catholic University). She has worked several years in secular jobs, dresses nicely and fashionably, wears jewelry, and does not look "poor" to me. What's the rules for Catholic "Sisters?" Can they marry? What other things can they do? I'm not Catholic, so I need your help. Thanks.
