This may seem strange, I will continue anyway.

I am a Deist, and I am critical of organised religions.

Take Asatru beliefs for example, in a way I feel their gratitude to their Deitys is extremely well placed, and many other aspects appeal to me by nature almost. I just don't believe it.

From my very limited knowledge of Buddhism it seems extremely fair to me, in terms of life and death consequences. And the peaceful ideals are very eloquent.

Atheism I find very logical, brave and beneficial for humanism and our understanding of the world because these people generally still want answers.

Can you give me your feelings towards other belief systems you find admirable in some way?

Yes. There are a number of religions other than my own that have ideas which appeal strongly to me. I also like the beliefs of other Christian denominations outside of my own.

I admire the openness of the Unitarian Universalists (and also Unity, which is a different denomination). I have always liked Reform Judaism. I am drawn to certain Pagan ideas, and find the Norse pantheon fascinating. My girlfriend is involved in the Eckankar religion, and I've learned a great deal from going to services with her. I like art and stories that depict the Hindu gods, especially Krishna. I like the peacefulness of Buddhism, the devotion of the Amish and Mennonites, the beautiful rituals and theological openness of the Episcopal Church, and the rationalism of atheism. To name a few.

The devotion of Muslims stands out in my mind as being admirable. The tradition of the Jewish faith is beautiful. The pageantry of Catholicism. The Taoist's view of child rearing. Many aspects of religion are valuable even to an atheist like me! I have much respect for all religions.

I think that ALL religions have their points that appeal to me I guess. They all have great points and they all have those that I don't necessarily believe or feel to be right. If I were to list the things I liked for every religion it would be very long. Suffice to say that I chose the one I chose because it is more right for me. but yet I still follow some beliefs of other religions because they feel right for me.

I like the thought of being able to blame someone or something else when things don't go my way or when I do something wrong...I like the idea of talking to someone in the sky when I am meditating...

Yes. I study a lot of religions. Since my religion is a sort of organized deism with little to no doctrine or dogma supported by tribal traditions we are encouraged to learn about other's beliefs as they may strengthen our own.

I am heavily interested in ancient religions (particularly of Europe and the Middle East/Persia), Buddhism, Taoism, Judaism, Catholicism and a host of others. I am mostly enamored by their traditions and certain philosophical outlooks less than their dogma. Zen and Tao is similar to our Stillness. The Kabbalistic YHWH is similar to our mysterious Creator, Catholic prayers to Saints is a lot like our appeal to the medicine powers.

I have seen far too much in the way of violence and death close hand to want anything to do with organized religion again.

The fact I had to fight and kill religious extremists did not help with maintaining my open-mindedness either.

I am not happy with the bigot I have become as a result.

Thanks for putting mine first. LOL
I respect a lot of things about a lot of faiths.
Celtic is beautiful in music and art and hold a lot of the same values as us.
Christianity in the form *I* learned it (Catholic) if beautiful with the drama and heartfelt in good works
Atheist always put a new perspective on my thoughts and make me THINK about what I believe. They are also amazing humanist most times.
And I repsect Deist. LOL I was one for a bit. It takes strength to take responsibility for yourself, which is what Deist do as they rarely believe in divine intervention. :)
