First, you will have to explain, what does technology have to do with the question? Are you saying that technology replaces God? What, has someone invented a robo-god or something? I really don't see the connection.
Second, you need to understand that technology is dead. It's inanimate. Technology is not alive. It can't guide us, when we're the ones making it. Do you get that? We guide technology, not the other way around. I know, some people have made up stories where technology gets out of control, starts thinking for itself and trying to take over our lives. But as of now it has not happened.
The point is, if we ever needed guidance from God in the past, then we still need it. Maybe now more than ever. If you're saying that today, we don't need it, then we never needed it. Technology and the date on the calendar have nothing to do with it.

Living in a world free of religion is my fondest desire, a real dream come true. Unfortunately, it apparently is too much to ask. Those who don't understand the first thing about how reality actually operates would rather destroy human civilization, than allow humanity to finally be free of our ancient superstitions. In a country so backwards it still insists on using gallons, pounds, inches, and degrees -- there is no chance we'll ever be allowed to escape from the superstitions of past.

Well, the thing that scares me is if you imagine a religion free world. Alot of the morals and standards get dropped. And lets not forget about those of us that believe in God and feel he should be kept above everything else. Scientifically, we may be smarter and know more, but look how corrupt the world becomes with each passing decade.

you, for your part, will worship technology and "science" as gods.
The One True God YHWH (Latin: Iehovah) is Himself holding the wisdom of this world as foolishness.
God is the Maker and the Former of the physical universe. His Son Jesus made all of these things with Him, as the Bible says that Jesus is the Firstborn of all creation, and everything was made through Jesus, under his Father's direction.
All of man's knowledge is puny and insignificant compared to the knowledge, wisdom and power of God.
The truth is our best scientists know next to NOTHING about the mysteries of the universe, and no amount of superciliousness can successfully obscure this fact.
God condemned LONG AGO humans that render worship to the CREATION rather than to the One who CREATED.
Soon, MANY of us will simply be ASTONISHED at what Jehovah God of armies is going to accomplish ON THIS EARTH. He is going to send His Son Jesus back as an executioner, and JUSTICE is going to be rendered.

So you have a detailed knowledge of modern technology then. Or are you just blindly believing what someone else has revealed to you? Perhaps you read it all in a book.
The belief that man does not need God is a superstition that has grown up in most failed societies.

There will never be a religion free world. Man will always worship and have faith in something. Even now some call themselves gods. "I am my own god" I can make things happen! God says have it your way!

You are wrong. You don't know 5% of what your saying right now. God led the way for this world, not technology. God created technology, humans, the world, solar system. Literrally, everything your seeing is created from God. Even your computer, your keyboard, your screen, everything.
Don't go off posting random stuff that your not educated with. You've been fed with lies and you post this on the internet for people to look at.
Read the bible. Ask for God's help. Most of all, accept Jesus Christ, God, and the Holy Spirit (Alpha and Beta) into your life.
Hope this helps,

The majority, unfortunately, do.
It isn't necessarily all bad though. Religion prevents tyranny, take for example the situation in Burma at the present.
