The reason I ask is because on this question about the legal age of consent, a number of Christians said that the legal age should be when they are married. Do some people really think we should outlaw premarital sex, and if so...what should the punishment be?

I was wondering what was a historical method. I have a bible assignment due and i have to know why it was useful. I also need to distinguish between a "devotional" and a "historical" approach to the Bible and know what is the difference? Any help please?

Claiming to KNOW anything about what is beyond death is a LIE. Nobody who has actually died has ever come back, period. If you make the claim, you are responsible for providing proof, and there is none.

don't they have better things to do other than finding fault in the Catholic Church? why can't they just pray in silence for their own life and not look at what other people are doing? Bible-fundamentalists don't belong in the Catholic Church, so why do they protest so much about anything Catholic?

I'v seen numerous postings today about Catholic practices. I wish I could answer them all, but I'm at work and I can only sneek in a quick answer now and then. I suggest to questioners that you go to Catholic Answers at http://www.catholic.com then look at the left sidebar: You will see many subjects. You can click on one and see tracts that will answer your questions. Also, the search engine will search 20 years worth of articles from "This Rock" magazine. There are a lot of great articles there too

The"official" Catechism Of The Catholic Church is online at: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/entiretoc1.htm
This is a difficult document to read. (The book is about three inches thick!) But, there is a wealth of information there too if you take the time to learn how to navigate it.

Please do not report me for not asking a legitimate question: I am only trying to help all the people who have been asking questions today.
If you read any of these links, I'd love to hear comments

Could science be going toward a truth in which the inner value of life would be fully blossoming, so much that no man would mind to see in it the presence of God in his life? Why should the inner value of life be only part of science as it is now in psychology where they only study pathological cases?

As reported in the Arizona Republic 09/19/2007
"The defendant in a state lawsuit is accused of causing untold death and horror and threatening to cause more still...State Senator Ernie Chambers sued God last week.....Chambers says in his lawsuit that God has made terroristic threats against the senator and his constituents, inspired fear and caused "widespread death, destruction and terrorization of millions upon millions of Earth's inhabitants. Chambers also stated that God has caused "fearsome floods, horrendous hurricanes" He is seeking a permanent injunction against the Almighty.
Do you think that I could join in this lawsuit, with some of you here , making it a class action lawsuit?

11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

KJV

If you have eternal life now, does that mean that you will have it forever? Is that what the word "eternal" means?

Why do you believe in it? Do you think it would be good or bad if the majority of Americans accepted Evolution over Creationism? Why?

Whatever happened to the Commandments?

And don't tell me they don't worship them, I've seen them keeling, weeping and reaching out to touch them or kiss their robes.

If that's not worshiping, then what is?

today's gun owners would get killed if they gave up their guns, but with no more guns being made, their grandchildren would be born into a world with few guns that the criminals could get their hands on. Too bad that today's Americans won't give up their guns to make the country safer for their grandchildren. Guns kill, not people. People don't kill so recklessly if they don't have a gun. You have to get too close to kill with a knife.
