Many Christians believe that ALL of the stories are literal.....
And thank you for the statement that the stories about the Greek and Roman Gods are interesting. Worshippers of those two pantheons think so too.......

Whole doctoral theses have been written on this topic, not to mention many books and articles. People who study different religions are astonished at the similarities, not the differences of the world's religions.
It is believed that the Romans had different gods for different purposes and that the Christians are monotheistic and believe in one God. If one studies the Greek and Roman gods, one would see much thought and care about daily and spiritual life.
Keep in mind that the Romans adopted the monotheistic Christian idea, which originally started with the Jewish tradition. Jesus was of the Jewish Essenes, who were monotheistic peoples. The Romans blended in some of their own culture (the modern Christmas and Easter are two of these ideas) and the idea of appealing to different saints for different causes paralleled their own beliefs.
As for the Roman stories being more believable, remember that the Etruscans and other people before them paved the way. Humans have been living in civilized groups on the planet for at least 25,000 years, so human nature has not changed much in 2,000 or so years.
Pay attention to histories, myths and legends. They have an everlasting human message.

The Romans gods are based on the Greek ones and the relation with nature.
The Christian God is completely abstract.
Anyway all gods are imaginary.

no longer a good number of a variations in case you look at it in a macro attitude: Egyptians used to have diverse gods for various matters ( start, loss of existence, judgment and so on)...then they have been conquered by utilising the greeks, who tremendously plenty substituted the names and actual visual attraction of those gods with the intention to imposse their subculture over the epyptians...then the greeks have been conquered by utilising the romans, and tremendously plenty they did a similar. it particularly is the reason in case you look objectively the three diverse cultures youll locate great similitudes amog them...even Christianity (which got here after the Romans) has a good number of resemblancy with egiptian believes ( eg. Egiptians believed interior the Holly Trinity, in Judgement Day, in that Rah is everywhere and so on. and so on.)

Roman gods are sinful, murderous, adulterous, and have no love for mankind. They sleep with their sisters and murder and kill each other. By the stories, man is much better off without them.
The Christian God is a lonely God who created man for companionship and the earth for man to live and rule. The story is about what God will do and has done to restore that companionship with man for eternity.

Roman "gods" were fictitious creations of men. The Christian God is the living Creator of men, and of all else that exists.

Sad.
People didn't claim to see the Roman gods with their own eyes. They were impersonal gods worshiped only because it was family tradition, there was no heart in it.
