They argue that God has always been God -- "Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God." Psalm 90:2

I'd like to know what other Mormons think of this and how to respond to it (I know an anti-Mormon guy). My own thoughts are that I agree with both sentiments and think we can believe that God was once a man and that He has always been God at least of this world at the same time. I believe the Bible is true and I believe the Church is true and am sure there's no contradiction, at least not to God.

Logically, it makes sense to me that as God is our Father that He would be like us and us like him including having experienced similar trials to ours at one point before the beginning of time. I also think it makes sense that we would be able to become like God because all parents want their children to progress to a point where their children become like them.

Anyway, thoughts?

Are those who believe:

that there is no God just because they don't see him physically;

that there is no higher power to whom they are accountable;

that people can basically do whatever they want without any certain consequences (because it APPEARS to be the case);

that there are no moral absolutes because it is more convenient that way for many;

in a state of delusion?

Father (1) tells his first born the rules of his house, and tells that child to tell the other ten billion. If anyone of those ten billion do not follow those rules, or do not believe he told this child, he sets them on fire.

Father (2) does not care whether you worship him or not. He tells his children (each of them) that loving each other is the most important thing. If they have a question, he answers it. If he does not wish to answer, he says so, not with silence, but with words. In the end, he lets everyone into his house.

I'm baffled at how the word "religion" is almost always used in a derogatory way lately. When did that happen? It reminds me of how, a long time ago, the word "gay" used to mean "happy". (It still does in a dictionary.) But now if you tell someone, "gee, you sure are gay today", they might think you're calling them a homosexual.

Words have been getting twisted up a lot in modern culture. No wonder people don't communicate very well.

The Merriam-Webster defines "religion" as:
- : the service and worship of God or the supernatural: commitment or devotion to religious faith or observance
- : a personal set or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices

Sounds okay to me. Any worshippers of ANY religion have a problem with that definition? I believe that people who say "religion" in a negative way are the "do-your-own-thing" type of people. They "personalize" God, and forget that we are a human family, and like all families, we have our traditions:

Take for example; a christian artist that sings/composes christian songs and not-so-christian songs? Of course I am not attacking any religion/and or belief, I simply want to know what others have to say about this controversial yet interesting subject.
The reason i specify with christians are for the artist Jackie Velasquez; Switchfoot, Greed...again, i am not wanting to point anyone out in particular. I am simply stating facts and examples.^.^ What do you think?
Please no offending.

Like there are millions of people without the so-called protection provided through "Faith"...seem like easy targets.

If you say that demons do possess many here on earth, how can you tell?

Any modern-day examples?

There was a saying that goes "You should be more afraid of the living than the death" because you know, a living person can physically harm you and someone's spirt cant do a thing (or at least I think) that's why i am asking. I've never heard of someone get murdered by a ghost or something so maybe someone else has.

Well Jesus said (John 17:3) 3 This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.

(Philippians 1:9) . . . And this is what I continue praying, that YOUR love may abound yet more and more with ACCURATE KNOWLEDGE and full discernment. . .
(1 Corinthians 10:15) I speak as to men with discernment; judge for yourselves what I say.

(Hebrews 5:14) But solid food belongs to MATURE people, to those who through use have their perceptive powers trained to distinguish both right and wrong. not a HEART CONDITION
(Jeremiah 17:9) 9 “The heart is more treacherous than anything else and is desperate. Who can know it?

(Romans 3:20) . . .Therefore by works of law no flesh will be declared righteous before him, for by law is the ACCIRATE KNOWLEDGE OF SIN

For instance, there's this story, about a place you can go after you die that is 87% better than Heaven, but not many people know about it. Well, now you do, but my point is that you aren't dissapointed in Heaven because you didn't know about this better place, and that's...okay. But, I bet, that you wouldn't be NEARLY as dissapointed with reality if you didn't know the story about Heaven...ya think?

would you dump or consider dumping them, would you be commited to still loving them?What if the "other" gets badly burned, losing all facial beauty, or that of someone developing terminal cancer, which would kill in 5-10 years, would you dump them? What do you believe would be the right thing to do? What would be the Biblical thing to do?
