I used to think that he was probably a real person, living 2000 years ago, I'm now pretty sure he wasn't. This feels like a betrayal by Christ, as part of my commitment was to leave my mind open to him, and I still do, but the evidence is mounting; I feel that Jesus is guilty of not existing.
All you Christians out there, I think you all know it's not true, but how do you pretend to yourself that it is.
By the way, I go along with all of Christ's teachings as a good way to behave.

According to the bible, god destroyed everyone on earth except, Noah, his wife, their three sons and their wives. A grand total of 8 people!
Okay, so I want to know, who did Noah send to what is now South America, Australia, North America, Antarctica and NewZealand to collect two of every animal? Who did he send to the bottom of the ocean in the Mariana Trench (7 miles down) and collect sea life there? Who collected the brown bears? Who collected the over 1 million types of plants and trees?
How could a dove have brought back an olive leaf when all trees were underwater for over 150 days and had all died? Why didn't god just snap his fingers and be done with it instead of a flood?
Oh, let me guess, I'm taking the story out of context?

It has been proven time and time again that it is impossible to put 2 of every animal (or even 1/10000 of all animals) into a ship of the Ark's dimension's, yet they still believe that it actually happened. If it really did happen (and if it happened only 10,000 years ago) wouldn't there be a whole lot more evidence that it actually happened?

Can any Christians that still believe that the Flood Story is real, give me some proof and evidence outside of the Bible that any of it actually happened, and can they tell me how Noah managed to fit all those animals on the Ark and have enough supplies to feed them for months?

There are a lot of apocalyptic scenarios looming out there, in various religious sects in the nooks and crannies of history. Though the scenarios are wildly different in method, you can rest assured that most will leave us all equally dead.

What to watch for:
Four guys on a multicolored assortment of horses will charge across the world, spreading War, Famine, Pestilence and Death. In other words, things will look exactly like they do now, so you'll need to actually see the horses to know something is up.
What comes next:
Few denominations can agree on what happens, and when. The basic idea that while we all play “Spot the Antichrist” amid the tornadoes and earthquakes, pretty much every comet in the universe hits Earth, turning the rivers and seas to poison blood. Mankind fights a gargantuan war involving 200 million soldiers. Then, invincible scorpion locusts swarm across the land, stinging the crap out of everyone who hasn’t been marked by God.

pope Linus succeeded StPeter as the Head of the Catholic church in 66ce. Why wasn't St Paul chosen as the new Pontiff if he was still preaching at this time? the dates surrounding St Peters death are ambiguous at best, for the chronicles of the time were not precise. some referrences have Peter dying in 68, or 67, so why would Linus be officially ordained in 66ce?

I am a Christian - How is it fair that you are allowed to profane things which are holy to me by claiming that Jesus is not the son of God as I believe, but I am not allowed to claim that Mohommed is not a prophet of God as you believe?

If I were to say to you Mohammed is not a prophet of God, you would be offended by me - so how is it right for you to claim that Jesus is not the son of God?

I say we should both be allowed to speak our minds in a respectful manner.

I believe in life after death, but I have to admit that the thought of dying scares me or the thought of someone I love dying scares me. Maybe if I had more faith I wouldn't feel this way?

Why do other religions, other than Christianity, acknowlege the life of Jesus Christ and consider him a prophet? By definition, the word prophet means a person who speaks the will of God. Jesus spent his life teaching his followers that he is the Son of God, "the way, the truth, and the light." Why would followers of other faiths believe him to be a prophet, even though they don't believe he was who he said he was? Isn't that contradictory? The theory that God sent a prophet to the world to virtually lie to his people makes absolutely no sense. In the words of Jesus, as quoted from the KJV, "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent," John 17:3. This is not a debate. I truly do not know the answers! Call it curiosity, but this has puzzled my mind for years. Thanks to anyone w/ the answers.

I suspect that when Jesus said dead he meant dead. I suspect that any variation on that basic theme was added or subtracted to/from the Bible by born-again Christian types trying to make ends meet.

I have asked for some views about no afterlife from atheists and have received many intelligent and thought-provoking answers. I would like to hear atheistical opinions on the following scientifically documented physical phenomenas. I don't offer this as proof of an afterlife, simply inquisitive to hear the atheistic point of view on such physical phenomenas. For the theists, many have told me they don't believe in ghosts, so would you comment, too? 1)A woman claims she sees the spirit of a little boy, who eventually bites her on the leg. A photo is taken and it is proved to be the bitemark of a human mouth, but not of her own children. 2) Family claims spirit of small girl in house causes scratches on the father, Discovery Ch. documents this on film as it happens, with several witnesses to the event. 3) Audio tape records voice in a graveyard, plainly audible and coherent, but could not have been made by any living human voice. I don't feel that magnetic resonance would explain these.
