I am a Christian - How is it fair that you are allowed to profane things which are holy to me by claiming that Jesus is not the son of God as I believe, but I am not allowed to claim that Mohommed is not a prophet of God as you believe?

If I were to say to you Mohammed is not a prophet of God, you would be offended by me - so how is it right for you to claim that Jesus is not the son of God?

I say we should both be allowed to speak our minds in a respectful manner.

We do not denounce Jesus (saws) altogether like you do Muhammad (saws). We simply denounce that Jesus (saws) is God or son of God because we don't give divine characteristics to anyone but God Himself. We believe that God is one, there are none like Him, and only He deserves our worship. For us, worshipping a man in addition to God is equivalent to polytheism and is simply non-Islamic.
However we do believe Jesus (saws) to be a great prophet of God who brought many things to his people. We respect him and honor him as a prophet, but no more than that. He is to us on the same level as Noah, Moses, Abraham and Muhammad (which is quite higher than any of us, lol!).

You can believe that Muhamad (pbuh) is not a prophet as much as I believe Jesus is not God/son of God.

I am not offended by your belief and I don't see how you could be offended that not everyone shares your personal ones either.

"I say we should both be allowed to speak our minds in a respectful manner."

Yeah...so do I....so where's the issue? =P

Peace.

gnostic, history is history. Islamic holy texts record that Muhammad was a rapist (although, according to Islam, his behavior is perfectly acceptable -- and should be emulated by good Muslims).

Matters of faith are matters of faith -- such as whether Jesus Christ was indeed the Son of God, or whether Muhammad (MHRIH) was indeed a prophet of god. Obviously Muslims and Christians believe things that contradict one another's faith -- but the question asks why Muslims get bent out of shape when Christians declare that Muhammad wasn't a real prophet, but think there is no fault in claiming that Jesus was not the Son of God.

Who is taking the right to speak your mind away from you?? Ofcourse, like you are offended when I say that Jesus is not the son of God....I will be offended if you say that Muhammad (saw) was not a prophet of God.....
Just like you have the right you what you claim, we have the right to what we claim...and no one stops either of us from claiming whatever we want to....

We believe in prophet Jesus "PUOH" like you do.
"Say: we believe in God and in what has been revealed to us, and what was revealed to Abraham, Isma'il: Isaac, Jacob and The Tribes, and in (the Books) given to Moses, Jesus and the Prophets, from their Lord: We make no distinction between one and another, among them, and to God do we bow our will (in Islam)." (Qur'an, Al-Imran 3:84)
What this means is Islam is Judaism + Christianity under one God. And you can not be a Muslim unless you believe in Judaism and Christianity. Its the unity of God words.

I am Muslim and I definitely respect your opinion on how you view Islam. I do not find it offensive on what you believe. I whole-heartedly agree with you that we should all speak in a respectful manner.

Why do people need to care about what other people believe. I do not believe in anything that cannot be proved (the existence of a God for instance), but do you care about my opinion? I don't think so. So why do you care about the muslims', and why do they care about yours?

To be fair to Muslims, they all believe that Jesus was a great prophet but Christians here call Mohammad rapist. That's not fair neither.

Christians lie when they say the Prophet Muhammad was a "rapist." When asked, who he raped, they are unable to answer or to prove it.

Muslims do not lie about Jesus. They claim what Christians themselves debated for three hundred years after Jesus and still continue to do so! Please read, "Jesus, Prophet of Islam," an excellent book with numerous Christian references as to how Christians came to believe that Jesus is a Son of God or God incarnate.
