I used to think that he was probably a real person, living 2000 years ago, I'm now pretty sure he wasn't. This feels like a betrayal by Christ, as part of my commitment was to leave my mind open to him, and I still do, but the evidence is mounting; I feel that Jesus is guilty of not existing.
All you Christians out there, I think you all know it's not true, but how do you pretend to yourself that it is.
By the way, I go along with all of Christ's teachings as a good way to behave.

The promise of God if you love and seek the truth you will receive a gift from God called faith and through faith comes revelation of God and a personal relationship with him.
Seek God in his word and prayer and meditaion and his truth will be revealed to you.

Jesus doesn't move in all people the same way.

When you pray, do you do all the talking? Do you sometimes just be quiet and listen and empty your mind of everything else except God?

I remember what the nuns used to tell me: God is a gentleman. He will not talk over you. You have to stop and give Him your attention.

Then of course when He answers, don't expect actual words from the ceiling or echoing in your head. If you hear those, you should probably see a doctor. ;)

God answers in lots of ways, but for me, it's a knowledge I have in my heart. It's not the same kind of knowledge as knowing 2 + 3 = 5, but it's still a knowledge.

Get yourself a good spiritual adivsor. Somebody you trust, who has some experience with prayer and see him/her a few times a week. That has helped me in the past.

Be patient. The Lord said that "if you seek for me you will find me, when you search for me with all of your heart, and I will be found of you."

Of course, if you believe that He was "probably a real person, living 2000 years go" it won't get you too far, because you can't put your whole heart into searching for something you don't think is real.

I don't need to pretend. I've met Him, and He changed my life.

Sadly, you think that reality is based on your own limited perception, and that just ain't so.

If you go by His teachings, then what about this one: "if you want to be my disciple, you must take up your cross and follow me" or "If you love mother or father or brother or sister or even your own life more than you love me, then you can't be my disciple"

How much of His teachings do you "go along with"? Only those that are convenient for you? or do you take it all? With Jesus, it's either all or nothing. That's why Jesus said that many would say We did this, we did that, etc, etc, but He would say "I never KNEW you. Depart from me you workers of iniquity."

Jesus said "If you continue in my Word, then are you truly my disciples, and THEN you shall know the Truth, and THEN the Truth shall set you free." But He also said "I am the way, the Truth, and the Life" but if you don't believe that, then how can you say you go along with his teachings?

Isn't it really (in all honesty) that you just want an excuse to continue to live in sin because you don't want to repent and turn from living for Self and allow God to be the Lord (boss) of your life?

You say you've been praying but because you haven't gotten, I guess, some kind of "sign", you feel betrayed?

Everything you need to know is in the bible. It's all there about Jesus. What you need to do is decide whether to believe this, or not.

And you couldn't be more mistaken; I do not believe it's not true and yet force myself to believe; that is simply silly. I believe the bible is true, all of it, from years of study and experience.

If you are sincere in wanting to know Jesus, God will in no way cast you out.

This reminds me of a story that says a man was on top of his roof because there was a flood. He asked Jesus to rescue him. Soon a boat came by but he refused because he said Jesus would save him. Then a helicopter came but he refused because he said Jesus would save him. Well he diees and goes to heaven when he sees Jesus he ask him why he di not rescue him. Jesus said I sent you a boat & I sent you a helicopter but you refused. The moral is you may not get what you want but you will get what you need. Sometimes the obvious is not clear.

He has made himself known to you ! Only you are too blinded by doubt to see. You lack faith ! God does not exists for you ! God exists for those who believe in him.
When you prayed you felt like you were talking to yourself right ? I HAVE NEVER FELT THAT. When I talked to God, to Jesus I always knew he was there listening to me.
I am so sorry for you.
If you want to know Christ, read the Bible. And pray harder and more often, without doubt.

I used to think people would read the bible before questioning it...

You only need faith the size of a mustard seed and all things are possible...

But when you're like "I don't believe in you Jesus...if you want me to, show yourself" this shows you don't have faith, therefore it's impossible.

Those that seek will find, those that ask will receive answers. Don't give up, He will reveal Himself to you.

Instead of praying to Jesus, if you prayed to the one true God, maybe it would work. I, as a Muslim, will also pray that God show you the right path.
