I figure there have got to be a number of Mexicans called Jesus who are atheist. Not a big deal. Its just a name, right? How is someone responsible for a decision probably made before they were born? They can always change it anyway.

Jesus is a common name outside of White America.

I think it would be great, imagine Jesus grows up to be a famous atheist author and writes things like "The book of Jesus" why religion is bad, and it would stop them from using all the WWJD crap.

No, I don't see why this would make them feel dumb. They could name their kid George Washington and then move to China, would they then feel dumb about their kids name?

I don't know of too many people named Jesus, save for those of Hispanic descent and Jesus Jones.
