There are many, many gifts of the Spirit. Tongues is one that is "abused" in some ways. The Lord has blessed me with a gift of spiritual healing.

Speaking in tongues is a way of short-circuiting the speech centers so that you produce a meaningless babble. It is not a gift of any Spirit, it is incorrect operation of your brain, and I mean that in all seriousness and respect.

I do speak in tongues yes...when I am worshipping God..it kind of just takes over me . Some things are beyond english language to communicate. I also have the gift of "laying on of Hands" (ie. healing by faith).

When the Apostles received the gifts of tongues they were able to communicate with Jews from foreign lands - in other words, foreign languages.
This babble they now do is garbage. Their are so many unbiblical elements in so-called bible believing churches. Most of it comes from pure and simple ignorance.

I don't speak in tongues, no. God has given me other gifts that He desires for me to use to glorify Him, and benefit others. If you don't mind, I won't go into them, I think that's sort of conceited. It's enough God knows what they are and that I am grateful He gives me the grace to use them in His service.

As long as you don't preach a false gospel as, someone MUST speak in tongues to be saved.
