How come demons don't possess more people on earth?

Question

Like there are millions of people without the so-called protection provided through "Faith"...seem like easy targets.

If you say that demons do possess many here on earth, how can you tell?

Any modern-day examples?

whilst most of the solutions given are factually marvelous, i.e. that's a fiction novel and you will have the released demon do despite you go with on the subject of the story line. the place I do disagree is their denial that evil spirits / demons exist. As this could be a talk board for faith and spirituality via nature it is going to charm to believers and scoffers. info of Demon possession is extremely sparkling interior the bible. Matthew ch12 v 27-28. Mark ch 5 v1-14 Jesus frees the guy from a "legion" of demons who then enter pigs and run of a cliff. In James ch2 v19 the apostle James states"you think there's a million God, good. For even he demons have self belief that - and shudder. So in precis, definite after exorcism the demon could take place itself in yet another physique or be destroyed. the genuine answer is to no longer contain your self with or go away your self open to attack via the evil spirits.

There's a difference between possession and influence.

Demonic influence is all around us.. Look at the entertainment that glorifies demons & so forth. And do you really think people like Hitler and Pol Pot and those were acting on their own? Or the rebels in Africa who go around mutilatng little children just to make a point?

The bottom line is what we read at 1 John 5:19 - "The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one".

Possession is not as common as you may imagine in fact it is pretty rare, much more common is demonic `opression` this afflicts Christians as well as un-believers.
The Christian is severly tempted psycologically to turn away from God and the un-believer is constantly assured that there is no God by these lying demons.
It is purely down to the mercy of God that possessions are not commom-place.

Number 1, they'd probably be bored to tears. Second, I would think they'd be pretty self-absorbed. Why possess an icky human when you're clearly so much superior? And, I also think there's probably an opposing force or someone who tries to keep them in control.

Proving a negative is very very very difficult. Prove that they were not possessed!
