Are IN SOME CASES catholic priests and popes the 'pharasees' of today?

this is not to say negatively of these ministers, many do a fantastic job. but Jesus came to correct those who were known as righteous and the religious leaders of the day. what are you thoughts here friends?

I mean, according to you guys, gays ~turn~ gay, and aren't born that way. So just wondering, how do you think they came to the decision.

I'm thinking they were just like "How could I sin today? Oh I know, I'll change my entire lifestyle and be gay."

What do you think it was?

behaviour, disease...)
but i (gay) cannot say what i think of christians?
why is that christians have to be respected when they dont respect?
just because they have a book??? i can write 20 if that is all it takes.
why do they ask people not to generalize when they are generalizing?
why is that i feel like vomiting when i hear them speaking of homosexuality?
and above all, why dont they just shut up and pray?
note_ yes, i have angry issues and i am gay so better not meeting me in the streets...

Romans 5:10
For if we, being enemies, were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, MUCH MORE we will be saved IN HIS LIFE, having been reconciled"

Truly a verse to open up for sharing.
Some things I have noticed. We were enemies.. We were Reconciled yet we will be saved much more in His Life having BEEN reconciled.

What is this " Being saved in His life'
We know that through His death we are brough nigh to God.. but In His life we will be saved much more.
I'd truly appreciate some indepth sharing on this matter:)

... expressed love and turn it into something despicable and dirty?

Its like emotions don't even occur to them and they obssess over the physical expression of it.

For example... demonizing sex outside marriage, demonizing homosexual love because of the way they physically express it, etc.

Seriously, you turn it into the forbidden fruit by making sex into something disgusting to be reviled.

Why? If you accepted it as natural and normal (like most people in the world do), there'd be fewer problems in the world.

And don't give me silly blather about god. God has nothing to do with it. Even he wouldn't want you to hate people, or treat them as less than human (like deny them the ability to marry who they wish for love) because you don't like what they physically do with each other. Think about it this way... your god didn't create your bodies so you could make them out to be something disgusting.

Scripture states the path that leads to life is narrow and few find it. The one that leads to destruction is wide and many are on the path.

Do you think you are on the right path?

When you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior at what point did you know you were saved?
My husband said he was in the choir and he closed his eyes to pray and said Lord i am not worthy of the food presented before me today, i can not accept the humblness of the church for i have not given myself to you wholey - and as he is praying this his mother heard a verse in her head something like, be quiet and see my work be done, something like that.
Well my husband says he never felt himself move, he never heard a thing, but when he opened his eyes, he was knelt before the preacher who was a good 20 foot distance from the choir. He knew at that moment he was saved.
I accept Jesus, but have not felt that movement. There was an odd thing that happened when i was pregnant, faced losing my child and i prayed all day long for this thing to happen but i won't write it's too long. How do you know you are saved?

LAUGH? i personally believe He did...He must have cracked up at the dumbfounded looks on people's faces when He performed miracles-and He was said to have loved children-how can you spend any time with kids and NOT laugh? or how about the times when He managed to slip away in the crowds and avoid being arrested-can you say 'nanny, nanny boo-boo, can't catch me?' or when He changed water to wine and rescued a wedding feast that was in danger of being a total flop-all those people dancing, laughing, celebrating-how could He have resisted a chuckle or two?
so PLEASE tell me why we as Christians have to show such a sour face so much of the time? is salvation not a joyful thing? are we not delighted to be part of His church? you'd be hard-pressed to see it sometimes! come on, Christians, this is the day that the Lord has made-let's all rejoice and be glad!

When I see a Christian say that they act morally because of God I get a little scared. They don't want to murder or steal or do anything else that is regarded as bad because it's a sin. They think that is the what morality is; being told what to do and what not to do by some kind of supernatural power. Does anyone else think this reasoning is seriously flawed?

My dog licks her butt, my cat licks herself, and my birds eat their own poop. You think since animals do it, that makes it appropriate or right for us? Aren't we supposed to be better then them instead of reducing ourselves to their strange ways?

"Christianity...[has become] the most perverted system that ever shone on man....Rogueries, absurdities and untruths were perpetrated upon the teachings of Jesus by a large band of dupes and imposters led by Paul, the first great corrupter of the teaching of Jesus." ------ Thomas Jefferson

“There is strong reason to believe that St. Paul fabricated the belief system of Christianity from Zoroastrian mythology. In order to hide Paul’s plaigerism… Christians burned the library of Alexandria in 390 A.D. Books in that library kept Mithra’s original story of what Pauline Doctrine is an almost exact copy. (George Sarton , Introduction to History of Sciences) ,

The Christian Trinity is a copy of the Pagan religion of Rome called Mithraism. Mithra was a half man half god who died for the sins of his followers. Guess what date the SUN god Mithra was born on ? - Thats right ...December 25th

The concept of God having a son is the basis of most Polytheistic religions and the exact opposite of the Abrahamic message of Monotheism. Your Lord is ONE – no partner, no Son , No God incarnate.

“The son-ship of Jesus Christ is the greatest fiction of human history.” (Lord Bishop of Canterbury Commission, the Spiritual Head of England, 1910.)

“The son-ship of Jesus Christ, the Trinity, the blood sacrifice of the lamb of God, atonement are not the teachings of Jesus. These are all inventions of Saint Paul who never really met Jesus.” (Hastings Rashdall, The Theory of Good and Evil)

One of the gifts I can give my kids is my faith. It seems that a lot of it involves evangelical beliefs--we have moved away ffrom such churches and leaders to a church which emphasizes social justice. Yet, I want them to respect other religions even though we have our own. Any ideas.

i mean if i believed in a religion i wouldnt think that "i am human like everybody else" or " i am a sinner since i am imperfect" is valid...since if i believe and you dont i dont think we both have the same level of responsability...
It is like a plane pilot sleeping on flight and when the plane is falling he saying: "well i am human like everybody else and i can make mistakes".
if one believes something, one is much more responsible about everything connected to whatever he/she believes than people who dont believe.
A christian may think that an atheist sinning is a bad thing (but an atheist doesnt know god) but a christian (who claims having a personal relationship with god) sinning is much worse.
So who are christians trying to convince and convince of what exactly, when saying "we are all imperfect and we all sin"???
