i don't believe that all people who are gay "turn" gay but i do believe for some it IS a choice - using it to spit in the face of others, parnts, whatnot. those that i know that "are" gay would truly not choose that life and have said so themselves. it's something with which they have become placated in living but would much rather be happily married with children - there words, not mine.

I work in a mental health clinic. The docs believe that SOME people are born homosexual because of hormone deficiencies in their mother during pregnancy. But it's a VERY small number! They claim the rest are homosexual because of dysfunctional childhoods and extremely poor role models.
That being said, even if a person is born that way, they don't have to act on their impulses or lusts. They can choose to "die to self." Particularly if they choose to follow Christ, because of what we're told about how God feels about homosexuality. It's an ABOMINATION! Why would anyone think it's normal or acceptable behavior?! It most assuredly is NOT. It's an unhealthy, unnatural lifestyle and should not be rewarded with special rights or "marriage".

I know a girl that had it all a good husband couldn't have children so they adopted. Then she allowed herself to think that it might be okay to be homosexual. She actually would take up for them. But then one day she decided to come in and tell her husband that she was a lesbian. After talking about it with her she admitted that it was a choice that she made. So yes I do believe that it is a choice. However if you don't believe that it is then you have to believe that God created gay people gay. Well I have a problem with that, God would not create people gay if it was wrong to be that way. You may have some struggles through life with being attracted to the same sex ? (Satan inspired) but have you ever thought that Satan could put these thoughts in these children's minds? What do people think that Satan is to nice for that? lol you people crack me up...

I think that when a person finds him(her)self attracted to someone of the same sex, that's when they are becoming homosexual. But no matter what someone says (whether they *feel* they were born that way or not), it doesn't mean they have to act on those feelings and have sex with that person. No one is holding a gun to that person's head and forcing them to have sex. If a man finds himself attracted to a married woman, should he act on those feelings and sleep with her too? That is when they need to resist temptation. Most people who are gay don't want to try to resist it because they think it's ok to sleep with someone of the same sex. But the Bible is clear that God forbids homosexuality. The bottom line is that we will all face God when we die, and we will have to answer for our actions. I'm sure many will disagree and they certainly are free to do so. But all the thumbs downs in the world cannot change God's word.

Since YOU asked, I will tell you. It is for the same or identical reason we all sin - because it starts with the letter "L" , ends with the letter "T" and involves "US" = "LUST" !!!
In the 1800s, in France, the legal powers to be at that time, thought the shape of the lobe of the human ear, determined whether a person was a criminal or not . People believe the most incredible justifications for human mis-behavior !!! Wasn't it science that told us back in the 1970s, that Pluto was a planet and now, is only a moon of the planet Zena ? Hmmmmmmmm !!!!

Probably the same thing that a drug addict thought when he took his first hit, or what an alcoholic was thinking when he took his first drink, or what a chain smoker was thinking when he took his first puff.
They were thinking, just once won't hurt me, I won't get hooked. I'll just experiment.
Of course, some gay people were probably abused when they were young, and didn't have a choice with that initial encounter. Or perhaps they have abandonment issues because of a neglectful parent. In spite of that, one does not have to act on their impulses no matter how unfair life might have been.
It seems that your real beef is with God, not us. We are just the messengers.

Gay people are oppressed by evil spirits, (note) that I said oppressed not possessed. They are influenced by evil spirits (demons) to lust after the same sex. Just as murderers are influenced my demons, to kill people; the spiritual world is very real. There are demons all around us; most people are not sensitive to their presents, and do not understand the influence they can have on someone. There is a spiritual war going on, that is why it is so important for parents to prayer for their children. Satan and his demons attack children at a very young age. That is why most gay people will tell you they are born that way, because they have been feeling that way from childhood. †

My friend,
I am a Christian, but I don't think that at all. I believe for some reason that I don't think anybody knows why: They are born that way. But, I believe and I have seen people change by becoming a Christian. Yes I believe being gay is a sin, but nobody has to stay that way.

My opinion is they were upset that confetti didn't come down from Heaven or something. They are ME only people and have a problem with authority. Nothing new. They do not like being told "No" they can't do something and it is sin within people that tells them "Yes you can do it"

I'm a Christian, but I don't believe that people "turn gay". I do believe they are born that way. I don't think anyone would choose to be judged and discriminated against. I also don't think that God makes them this way either, I think it just happens. Just the same as God didn't make my son with a disability, it just happened, and there is no one to blame. I love everybody and although that is not my lifestyle, I wouldn't judge people who do have that lifestyle. I think everybody should live and let live.

Who says gays "turn" gay? I think they're born that way. The Bible says we are ALL born into sin, each with our own set of struggles. That doesn't mean we can't be set free.
