because I get to decide what is my truth - just as you should decide what is your truth

I think a better question would be, "How do you know your religious beliefs are useful?". In the end, (or at least until a degree of enlightenment has been achieved) we can't rely upon our emotions or mind to give us the straight story. The truth is obtained through the use of the intuition, a faculty which has not really been developed. What we can do is put our beliefs into practice. This is called "living in faith" but it is also about common sense. Do what seems best. For example, act as if you value human beings, and pretty soon you will. Good actions bring a happy state of mind.
If your belief causes you or someone else pain, ditch it without looking back. If you can't ascertain its truth, or if you can't apply it practically, consider it an opinion, and for God's sake (and the sake of others) don't shove it down anyone's throat.

Newdude.... hmmm... how does one answer this?
If I had had ANY doubts, once I received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, I hadn't any left....
I have seen the darkness in so many people...seen some evil things that there isn't any other word to describe EXCEPT "evil".... I have seen miraculous things as well as the regular day to day trials and successes... have felt the secure, loving, peace of knowing God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit is with me at all times.... I also know what it was like when I tried to walk alone...and seeing others doing the same thing here and there....the difference in them when they took a step in faith... the child like joy, healing tears and laughter... being able to read the Bible, God's Book of Truth, and understanding and being blessed by it.... being tried, tested, and even attacked and having the authority and assurance that I CAN do something about the situations and not have fear....being able to council hurting people and seeing rays of hope where there had been none... learning patience and caring enough to pray for the stranger as well as a loved one and seeing prayers answered whether they know how or where the blessing came from or not... some taking time, for hurting people need to be healed within before anything shows on the outside... having failures but getting strength and wisdom from them....and always, the Bible, God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit never change...
I see so many different religions trying to take bits and pieces of the Bible to suit themselves... I have watched people, listened to them, looked into their faces and eyes and see an echo of something missing... and watching them try different things in searching for an "easy" way to get what I and many others have....
I marvel that they use so much energy and time searching for easy ways...just wanting the "good feelings" and blessings without having to commit or take responsibility for anything....and complaining when they don't get results like others do.... and they keep on and on, running like a chicken with their head cut off always searching...
The Bible tells us about why these people do this... in fact, it tells us about every type of person there is...the troubles, the pains, the doubts, the fears, people hurting other people, people hurting themselves, etc.,. I really didn't have to take the sociology and psyschology classes I have to be able to see all that, lol
It's all there in the Bible... and what to do about each and every thing.
My Belief and Faith builds people up, not down... It teaches us to look beyond the faces and masks that people wear and look into their hearts NOT their deeds....and teaches us to look at ourselves the same way...
Yes, Christians hurt others sometimes... Christians hurt other Christians too...just like any family, there are babes, adolescencents, teens, forever 29ers, and mature....
...but we come from all walks of life....and some have been self taught while others had teachers and churches and all have experiences and environments which influenced us all one way or another in thinking and doing things differently then others... God is working within us all for everything we do and say...
Yet...those of us whom were self taught with just the Bible, God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit have the same knowledge and gifts that those whom had Christian families, churches, and teachers have.... That alone is a testimony to me that this is the True Faith... Belief.... God.... Savior.... Spirit....and Book....
Peace be with you all :)

How do you explain how a galaxy cluster follows its path?
If a person accepts Jesus as their Savior they will have their life and their desires change. They will have peace the world can't offer.

because God , reaveled them , he cannot deceive nor can he be deceived. When you got the truth, you know it. It is reasonable, understandable, mysterious, it is holy, it is awesome, only Jesus would invent certain sacraments, like confession.

Jesus Christ founded only one Church and that happens to be the one I belong to.
Jesus said:
"thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it" (Matthew 16:18, KJV)
"Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me" (John 17:20-23, KJV)
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world" (Matthew 28:19-20, KJV).
Jesus established only one church, the one He founded on Peter, the rock. He prayed that all His followers would be one, and He promised that He would be with His Church until the end of the world. This was recognized by Saint Paul when he wrote:
"Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit -- just as you were called to one hope when you were called -- one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all" (Ephesians 4:3-6, NIV).
One faith means one set of beliefs, one set of doctrines; doctrines which never change. There is only one Catholic Church but there are over 26,000 Protestant denominations today; each separated from the other by differing doctrines. Each of these denominations can be traced back to a single individual who was not Saint Peter or one of the apostles.
Every Christian church possesses some of the truths revealed by our Lord but only the Catholic Church can trace its origins all the way back to Jesus and Saint Peter through the rite of ordination; the laying on of hands and passing on of episcopal responsibility and authority. Because only the Catholic Church can be traced all the way back to Jesus, only the Catholic Church can be said to possess all the revealed truth. After all, Jesus founded the Church, promised that the gates of hell would not prevail against it (which means that it would be perpetual and not teach error), and promised to be with it until the end of time. Not at the end of time, but continually until the end of time. Either the Catholic Church was and is the one true Church, or the Bible is wrong, or Jesus lied.
