Here is an exerpt from a study done on the most atheistic countries in the world:

"High levels of organic atheism are strongly correlated with high levels of societal health, such as low homicide rates, low poverty rates, low infant mortality rates, and low illiteracy rates, as well as high levels of educational attainment, per capita income, and gender equality."

What does this tell you? Do you think we would all be better off without god and religion in our lives?

(BTW, the top 10 atheistic countires are all some form of democracy, so don't give me that "atheists are all communists" crap, because it simply is not true.) Here is my source: http://www.gadling.com/2007/08/23/least-religious-countries/

I don't believe in Dragons...so I don't hang out in the Dragons room...

I don't believe in Fairies so I don't ask questions about fairies..

If you're an athiest and you don't believe, then why spend 90% of your day talking about religion ?

Just wondering.

Prominent creation scientist Em Adjineri has recently been studying horses, and discovered that they conclusively disprove evolution. The reason for this is that horses could not possibly have evolved.

Em Adjineri has discovered that the horse is simply a hornless unicorn that is not magical. Therefore, horses must have evolved from unicorns. However, no unicorn fossils have ever been found, and even the most ardent evolutionists will reluctantly deny that unicorns have ever existed.

This proves that horses could not have evolved from unicorns. If they didn't evolve from unicorns, the only alternative explanation is that horses were created by God. God created horses so that humans would have something to race while they were riding it.

If God created horses, then the Bible must be literally true because it says that God created animals. (I know this is a false syllogism but I'm ignoring that fact because it hurts my argument.)

Take that, equinelutionists!

Or in other words, how do you develop a strong relationship with him. After all, isn't Allah (swt) the only person you really need in this world..?

I'm often told that I should pray that the Lord would reveal himself to me..

My question is, what do you expect would happen?

Would he make a physical appearance?
Would other observers see the same things I see?
Would there be a sign?
Or would I just have a strong feeling that he was real?

What would you say if none of these things occurred?

In Matthews 6:5-6 it say’s
"And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. "But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

And my question is..........why are people even in the Religious and Spiritual section if they don't want preaching???

2007-09-14 08:29:02 · 7 answers · asked by Anonymous

But why do so many people in the world believe in higher beings (gods, goddesses, or God, etc.)? Why do people insist their religion is the only one that makes sense, like there is only one God to believe in...

Why can't we just believe in ourselves? Isn't that enough?

ps. I don't mean any harm in asking this question, but I'm just curious to know why. I do not mean to offend anyone.

Christians say that if their god isn't real, then there's really no consequence for believing in him or not, but if it is real, then the non-believer will suffer for eternity. They claim that it's better to be on the safe side. Unfortunately for christians, there is a consequence for believing in their god.

You see, the wager works with any other god as well. But let's go with one that's been around longer than theirs for argument's sake.

Suppose it's Ptah that's real, they'll have no clue about the Ma'at Keru, how to get through Duat, or that they have to make it to Anubis for judgment. And even if they do, they won't know the Maat Kheru so their hearts are going to end up being devoured by Amut for the "sins" of their lives of blaspheme. Such a terrible price to pay for choosing not to believe in Ptah and learn of the afterlife.

Christians, are you sure you aren't being mislead by people who rejected the true word of the great god Ptah, Thoth? Is it worth the risk?

hell shall not prevail!!!!!!!
The Church Is One
John 17:11
Holy Father, keep them in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one just as we are.
John 17:21
... so that they may all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us, that the world may believe that you sent me.
Eph 4:4 - 5
There is one body and one Spirit just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of us all.
1 Cor 10:17
Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread.
John 10:16
(Jesus said) "there shall be one flock, one shepherd."
The Church is Holy
The Church of the apostles was holy. When we say that the Church is holy, we mean among other things that she had the all-holy God as her author.

Eph 5:25 - 27
Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.
1 Tim 1:15
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.
The Church is Catholic
The third great historic mark, or note, of the one true Church is that this Church is Catholic. Catholic means "universal." It refers as much to the fullness of the faith she possesses as to the undeniable extension in both time and space that has characterized her virtually from the beginning.

Mark 16:15
He said to them, "Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature."
Col 1:5 - 6
The word of the truth ... in the whole world ... is bearing fruit and growing.
The Church is Apostolic
Finally, the Church that issued from the commission of Christ to the apostles was apostolic. Christ founded the Church upon the apostles.

John 6:70
"Did I not choose you, the twelve?" (Jesus) asked them.

I'm an agnostic and if there is a God I'd think He would be angry at all the people making assumptions about Him. I mean the Bible says He's misogynist, homophobic, wrathful, He endorses slavery and He sadistically tests people's faith when He already knows the outcome.

Would you wanna be tied to that description?

If there was a God and He was in fact an omnipotent, omniscient, Alpha and Omega and overall supreme being I'd think He would be very angry at Christians for presuming so much about His character and His will.

Substitute He with She/It at will.

The digestive tracts of mammals are merely profoundly sophisticated versions of state-of-the-art municipal sewerage treatment facilities.

Mammal 1] Bolus of food enters the esophageous

Engineered 1] Human waste flushed into sewage line.

Mammal 2] Bolus enters the stomach, bathed in acid [primary digestion]

Engineered 2] Waste product enters the primary digestion chamber at the treatment facility. Oxygen introduced to destroy anerobic microorganisms and liquify solids.

Mammal 3] Nutrient rich [stomach] effluent enters small intestine, anaerobic gut flora introduced.

Engineered 3] Nutrient rich effluent enters secondary digestion chamber, aerobic microorganisms introduced.

Mammal 4] Wastes enter large intestine.

Engineered 4] Effluent enters holding pond.

Mammal 5] Wastes discharged.

Engineered 5] Treated effluent discharged into river.

Aside from converting the nutrients to energy the two processes are almost identical.

What do you think?

Could you people... just... cut it out?

I was trying to ask a question related to my religion, Paganism. I asked for thick-headed close-minded people not to answer.

Now, I got an answer from a Christian woman who said God Bless, hoping me luck in my findings. I got an answer from a Non-Pagan suggesting something actually helpful.

For all of those who found it amusing to just insert things that have nothing to do with the question...

... I do not like you.

I do not like the fact that I was asking a question to a group of people on something I found to be serious, and you all just jumped on the harass-wagon.

Please. PLEASE. If I ask a question for a group of people, don't answer it unless you have something polite to say that DOES NOT ATTEMPT TO CONVERT ME.

If you scroll through my answers, you'll find that I try to give helpful answers to questions that are faith-based, even if it's not my faith.

I don't try to convert. I don't insult.

So please show respect?
