Christians say that if their god isn't real, then there's really no consequence for believing in him or not, but if it is real, then the non-believer will suffer for eternity. They claim that it's better to be on the safe side. Unfortunately for christians, there is a consequence for believing in their god.

You see, the wager works with any other god as well. But let's go with one that's been around longer than theirs for argument's sake.

Suppose it's Ptah that's real, they'll have no clue about the Ma'at Keru, how to get through Duat, or that they have to make it to Anubis for judgment. And even if they do, they won't know the Maat Kheru so their hearts are going to end up being devoured by Amut for the "sins" of their lives of blaspheme. Such a terrible price to pay for choosing not to believe in Ptah and learn of the afterlife.

Christians, are you sure you aren't being mislead by people who rejected the true word of the great god Ptah, Thoth? Is it worth the risk?

I personally try very hard to maintain my lightheartedness so that when Ma'at weighs my heart against her ostrich feather I will be able to pass on to Duat. :D

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure that embalming just ain't like it used to be, so I'm not sure how I'll hold up in the afterlife.

i've never heard of Ptah, but i am aware of the after death beliefs in Kemeticism(sp?)

anyway, from what I know, as long as I live a good life, my heart will be light enough to pass the test and not get eaten by Amat.
And since the 10 commandments are based on the Egyptian book of the dead, i might just make it.

once you get right down to it, who knows what God thinks? All we actually comprehend is what we expect of and who we'd appreciate... with that pronounced, you're purely as in all threat to get into heaven being a lemming as you're being an autonomous reality seeker.

I don't believe in a mean ugly demanding God. I believe in one who if he really loves me and expects me to serve him ......he will show up and make himself real to me. I always believed that. Now that he HAS shown up and made himself real to me I have no problem serving him and no questions about his existence. My only question to him is how does he want me to go about talking to others about him.---Christian
