It has been said, 'Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.' But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery." Matthew 5:27-32

I dont understand that passage from the bible, It would seem that that passage gives no room for common sense,

what about abuse, incest, irresponsibility, and so on
and if thats true then isnt it wrong for a preacher or preist to marry a couple made up of divorcees ???

Exactly what point in time did it change from meaning a warrior/king who would conquer enemies of Israel and cause world peace; to a homeless preacher who was executed like a common criminal?

Back to my story of Jephthah and his daughter. Let me show you what the vow Jephtah made actually says and you tell me what it means...

30--And Jephthah made a vow to the Lord, and said, "If You will indeed deliver the people of Ammon into my hands..31--Then it will be that whatever comes out of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the people of Ammon, shall surely be the Lord's, and I will offer it up as a burnt offering". ... Do you know what it means to offer up a burnt offering in Israeli terms? You have to have a blood sacrifice for the burnt offereing. The only people in Jephthah's house was his wife and his daughter. What do you think this vow means now?

Sometimes it's seen as a sign of women opression, but I know there are many women who use it because they want to. For those who use it, is it ever uncomfortable, like in hot days? Do you have a choice of when and where to use it. Can you use it off and on, like if one day you don't want to you just don't and the next day you do and like that? Thanks!

Doesn't the anti-Christ need a system of government that is so pervasive (liberal democracy) that he can persuade ALL nations to attack the Israelis and their religious zealots?

I spent a good portion of my life ignoring and avoiding at all costs certain questions that I had about religion/death/etc because I was not ready to deal with what I feared the answers might be. Now that I have finally decided to ask myself the "hard" questions, my anxiety has virtually disappeared, and I feel much more at peace with myself and the world around me.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Apparently there's a stargate in irag 'the garden of eden' and that President Bush was to attack irag for control of the stargate.now I think that is pretty far fetched, yet people like Perry Stone is saying that the reasons for the Sunni/Shia conflict in Iraq is due to one group hoping to bring about the MAJDi (sp?) the white horse of the Apocalypse.

So now some people say the entire War in Iraq is apocalyptic with the Stargate in the center of dispute? I have not heard of this before what says you?

(On YA if you want more christians than athiests you need to address the other group).

If god is the "craftsman" of life.

why are there so many different ways that different animals and creatures and plants all achieve the same end.

whether it be a respritory system, or a way to cool down the body from overheating or methodology to digest similar types of food?

If god as the creator of life (according to creationists) found a system that works, why change it up?

why not use the most efficient, effective system for all his creations?

Explain how different creatures have different methods of dealing with the same condidtions in thier environment.

how do you explain that this could have happened if you have one "designer" who creates all things.

The only options I see to solve this riddle are:
1- there is more than one "god" or "creator".

or

2- you now have a philisophical argument as well as scientific arguments ***** slapping you in the face.

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.

Is God able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.

Is God both able and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?

Is God neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?

I asked a question of the catholics, and perhaps i should ask the same of the other pseudo-christians who claim to serve the LORD under other named "faiths". But I have to wonder, if anyone would mind looking at the previous question I asked to the catholics, and see if you can tell me what question were they answering.

It is weird how the deceived can come up with such... ...foolishness to justify skirting the actual question asked.

I do not put anyone down for the way they choose to believe, but I would warn ALL who do contrary to the ways and teachings of JAH Almighty, and Jesus' our Saviour', that no man can change their words... no matter how many words they use to justify their thoughts... ANYTHING against God and our Saviour is pagan, and is of the ways of the ways of the Nicolaitanes; which God hates.

But I really want to know... what question were they answering? What did I miss?

Hi, I was raised a Jehovah's Witness and I am no longer in that religion through much research and self reflection and Im very confident and happy with my decision. I am a Christian but I have never been baptised and as of now I dont belong to any particular church. I would like to know if you need to be baptised to go to heaven. Any info or help with this question is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have read this scriputer multiple times, but need to know the exact passage. It says something along the lines of "only those who hate their parents will find heaven". I don't remember the exact verbage, nor the exact passage. Also, I'm pretty sure I understand the meaning of the verse, but if you would care to comment that would be appreciated too. If I understand the passage correctly I take it to mean that you must reject the teachings of your Earthly parents and embrace the lessons of your Heavenly Father. Ofcourse I cannot delve any further in to it until I find the passage again, so if anyone out there could help it would be much appreciated.
