Nope. Belief in something has nothing to do with the things that make us superior. I am superior to no person, because in God's eyes, we are created equal.

I AM, however, superior to a dog, a cat, a chimpanzee, and any other animal on the face of this planet. (I may not be faster than a cheetah, but I am still superior, because I was created in the very image of God).

Being "right" about something should humble a person. Pride puffs up. And pride comes before a fall. But God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble.

I wish I could say no, but I do often feel superior to people who believe differently then me.

However, I have a great deal of respect to anyone who dedicates themselves to what they believe is right / pure / true. If it is a priest, a monk, or a hippie who honestly questions their beliefs and lives by them I have a hard time feeling smug or superior.

Personally, I hate hypocrisy and closed-mindedness and try to always be willing to question my beliefs. I accept that I'm not perfect but it can be hard work to improve...part of being a sane, intelligent, and confident person is believing that your reality is based on truth. It can be difficult to chip away at your own foundation, and it's usually easier to feel better about yourself by looking down on others.

Like I said...I do feel superior sometimes, but I work and try hard not to. My failures...they are learning experiences and opportunities to grow.

No. According to my belief system, that would mean I was actually inferior to those who don't believe the same as I do.

Part of my beliefs is that I might, as a Roman Catholic, have more fullness of truth than a non-Catholic, but that in no way makes me more superior. Just more blessed, which was none of my own doing.

No, I don't Linz. There were times I did but that was mostly immaturity. There are things I believed without a doubt, and they turned out to be wrong. Wisdom tends to start with humility. So, no I'm comfortable with what I believe, but I don't think those beliefs make me superior in any way to anyone.

To be honest I think that everyone does to a point, and those who claim they don't are lying or in denial. I know I personally have my moments when I do feel some smug sense of superiority over people who don't have heavy contact with my Gods as I do or people whom I see as having "backwards" thinking, or people whom I see as not being as open-minded. We all have those moments, it's human nature.

But at least I'm honest about it. I'll be very surprised to see how many truly honest answers you get.

It really depends on the belief. I tend to base my beliefs on the available evidence. If someone has a belief that is different than mine that is based on evidence that can be verified as credible, then once I see the evidence I usually change my belief to reflect what is true. If their belief is based on hear-say that is contradictory to verifiable evidence, and they choose to discredit the evidence based soley on the belief, then I think that the person doesn't want the truth. Does that make me superior, no, it simply means that I was more willing to look at more of the evidence than they were.

No, not superior at all - we are all seeking God.
We were all lost once. I don't even feel more
superior that I have "found", just experience
God's grace and mercy. Having an open heart
and ears is what we all need. Humbleness is
most important, pride blocks everything.

well I have yet to meet anyone who believes exactly the same as me, and i feel I'm pretty much superior to every one I have met. Its not because they believe differently, in fact I probably would'nt like the jerk who did agree with me. I'm just incredibly egotistical

I have my own beliefs, but that doesn't give me any right to feel superior to others. I treat everyone on the same level.

When I look at the wonders of this universe and the God who created it all, I feel very humble.

When I look at the depth of my sin and the grace of the One who forgave me, I can never feel superior to another.
