Hi, I was raised a Jehovah's Witness and I am no longer in that religion through much research and self reflection and Im very confident and happy with my decision. I am a Christian but I have never been baptised and as of now I dont belong to any particular church. I would like to know if you need to be baptised to go to heaven. Any info or help with this question is greatly appreciated. Thanks

All who come to God in The Way He prescribes receive His free gift of Salvation... with that comes the Baptizim of The Holy Spirit... that is all there is to the requirements for entery into Heaven... The Baptizim in water is a public demonstration of ones commitment to The Church and to The Head of The Church Jesus The Christ... but if that formality is not be compleated it will not stop anyone from entering Heaven...... I was not dunked untill about a year and a half after my Salvation.... there are "denominations" and individual congregations which have different requirements... but those are their man imposed rules... not God's... you Salvation can be assured in the middle of the dryest desert with not a drop of water for miles... it is strictly between you and God... it si a good thing to do though, when the oportunity comes, to make your public demonstration of Faith... you will find it is a personal experience you will be glad you did.

I am happy for you because you followed your own inner voice to make this very important personal decision.

You dont have to be baptised to go to heaven. You have taken Jesus Christ into your heart which is what Christianity is all about.

Jesus was baptised by John. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, which is the Holy Trinity.

God will let you know in time what you should do.

Jesus said, “MAN must be born of water and of the spirit.” Meaning a grown adult (Man or Woman) not a child.

Jesus went through his Jewish community’s traditions (including being circumcised) just as Catholics go through their community’s traditions of baptism of infants. But Jesus was baptized as an adult, when he could make adult decisions. And we too, must be baptized and born of water, if we’re born of the Spirit, according to Jesus.

We’re Christians because we have a personal relationship with Christ, and are baptized as an expression of that decision we make as thoughtful adults.

Any other baptism of people who are too young to remember it, or by people who aren’t born of water and of the spirit is simply getting wet.

Having parents who are Christians doesn’t make you a Christian any more than having parents who are drug addicts makes you a drug addict.

Following Christ is the only thing that makes you a Christian . . .and if you follow Christ and do what he did, then you get baptized.

The question isn't do you need to be baptized, the question is why wouldn't you want to be?

Godspeed.

NO, you do not 'have' to be baptised to go to heaven. Romans 10:9-10 " If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are {justified} and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." You need to come to Christ and make him the Lord of your life, it will change you forever. Good luck Brother and may God bless you in the your future life.

YES.

Jesus said that "unless anyone is born from water and spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."

The context of Jesus remarks to Nicodemus in the 3rd chapter of John had to do with being born again. So, Jesus was clearly saying that in order to become born again—with the prospect of eventually going to heaven—a person had to be baptized both in water and in holy spirit.

The reality is that a person cannot choose to be born again from the holy spirit. Jehovah himself does the choosing. However, we all have the choice to dedicate ourselves to God and Christ and submit ourselves to Christian baptism. It is Jehovah's will that all who choose to serve him, whether anointed or not, should be baptized. It is part of the required public confession of our faith.

Now, what if a person is unable to be baptized—for whatever reason—yet they are inwardly devoted to God? Fortunately Jehovah knows us intimately. Jehovah knows our hearts. He knows our circumstances.

My belief and understanding is "YES" you do!..

But if unsure,.. think of it this way,.. Christ set the example! He was even baptized! Why not follow his example?? (Matt 3:16)

Also,.. if we do..and later learn it wasn't neccessary.. what do we lose? When,.. if it WAS neccessary,.. and we don't???

Scripture to reference..
Mark16;6 He that believeth AND is baptized shall be saved.

Acts 2:38 They were commanded to repent and BE BAPTIZED in the name of Jesus Christ for remission of sins.

Acts 10:46-48 Even after being saved, and recieving the holy spirit,.. Peter commanded them to be baptized IN THE NAME of JESUS CHRIST.

Matt.28:29 also tells us to be baptized in the NAME of the fatherson and holy ghost.. (It was important to me to USE that name!.. not titles.

There are many more,.. I only listed a few. God Bless!!

Baptism is not required, but it is a step on the Walk of Faith. Jesus was baptized, and he does call us to join Him in the baptismal waters, so why not go for it?
The most important thing is to recognize the righteousness, death, resurrection and divinity of Christ and to seek forgiveness in His name. Once you do that with an open and earnest heart, I believe you will want baptism with an almost unquenchable desire and confess that to the world.

i am a convert to islam as i found christianity to just not be right for my beliefs. i was baptized 2 times. the first time was because i was 10 and everyone said you have to. the 2nd timre is because the preacher said if you were baptized in a church other than this one i am sure they didnt baptize you correctly. so i was baptized again. all ridiculous. so i left christinity the speaking in tongues nonsense. running around the aisles, screaming stuff. looked and felt like i was in a crazy house. in islam we simply say we believe their is one god and muhammed is his messenger and we take a shower. thats it. and you can do it all by yourself. no preachers, no deciding if they are doing ti right. no deciding if you are in the right denomintaion oh am i baptist, presp, catholic,or all the other 70 some sects of christianity,. and we all know if you choose one group the others will be after you to change you faster than you can say pizza. another reson i chose islam. as a muslim i am a muslim and thats it. noone fights over what group i am in or what kind of mosque i attend they are all the same. and worship the same and teach the same things. they dont have a million different versions of the bible flying at you . there is only one book 1 version of the origional arabic quran sure it is translated to english and spanish but the origional arabic test is still the same as God sent it. i just couldnt read all the versions of the bible to see what was true. i dont want to guess. i just want to know.

It appears my answer will be to the contrary of all preceding mine. To enter the highest level of heaven where God the Father and His Son reside a person must be baptized by requisite priesthood authority. That highest level of heaven is called the Celestial Kingdom.

Persons not baptized will enter a lower glory or kingdom but it will still far surpass any one's imagination for their eternal rest. They, nevertheless, will be saved as the term applies in Christianity.

The thief on the cross did not immediately go to heaven, but to a spirit world called Paradise--a righteous place preparatory for the Second Coming of Christ and the resurrection of all souls. Some time after this resurrection we will be judged by Christ and then consigned to our eternal glory or eternal damnation.
