Sometimes it's seen as a sign of women opression, but I know there are many women who use it because they want to. For those who use it, is it ever uncomfortable, like in hot days? Do you have a choice of when and where to use it. Can you use it off and on, like if one day you don't want to you just don't and the next day you do and like that? Thanks!

So, if she doesn't want to she's free not to, right? for what I understood.

O.k. is it ever uncomfrotable? For instance I can barely wear a turtleneck because I feel suffocated so I can't imagine wearing something that would cover my whole head and neck...Are you allowed to take it off in circumstances like that? Once I fainted at a mall because it was so hot, I was wearing a t-shirt. It was so scary because I was pregnant too.

There's only a point in wearing it if a woman wants to do so herself, so opression is out of the question. True, sometimes parents force their daughters to do so, but really they should explain why it is important first and make sure their daughters understand.

A headscarf is, believe it or not, a symbol of honour, showing that the woman wearing it is treasured by her family and is to be respected. It also allows Muslim women to go out and work or study comfortably, because men are less likely to look at them in a sinful manner if they are covered.

It can be taken off in front of other Muslim women and also in the home.

A hijab or headscarf is not a sign of oppression. You might have discerned that from the media but it's not true.

When I'm around people, I want to be recognized and appreciated for the person I am, and NOT how I look. And wearing hijab allows me to filter out those shallow people in my life who care only for looks and beauty. I am recognized for my intelligence, witty humor, resourcefulness etc. first and foremost.

Because of my hijab, people respect me and think highly of me as opposed to some people who care only to dress minimally.

Is it uncomfortable? It can be sometimes, when the weather is too hot... I don't take it off but I do loosen it a little bit.

In my high school we had a muslim student who chose to wear the Hijab. She was proud of her faith and wanted to show that not all Muslims were crazy anarchists. I'm not sure if it ever got uncomfortable, but if you wear it all the time you'd get used to it. I suppose it'd be like wearing a hat, just a little hotter.

And about taking it on or off: I think she said that if you chose to wear it it's not something that you can chose to take on or off depending on your mood. You have to be serious about your comitment to the custom and wear it every day (but I think it's only really when you go outside but I may be wrong on that).

It's a sign of modesty, not opression. Yes, women in the middle east are opressed, forced to do many things. But the women, mainly in the US, who choose to wear the Hijab do it as a sign of modesty and not because their husband tells them to.

Indeed, law law = "oppression" x2:
Eg: Mt 22 law law; Rom 8 law law.
It's a cover up of the head that's
high-mindead, double-mindead,
un-stable every way of law vs law.

Women = Churches in Bible "allegory".
Silly women taken captive: silly churches bewitched.
What the Spirit saith "unto the churches" x7 in Rev'n?
It's written in Galatains, is written "unto the churches".

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

I think it's a sign that the men in their country don't like hair! They even have to shave their pubis! Pretty opressive, for sure!

They do not like to use the headscarf. They use it because they fear someone will throw acid on their faces.
