You should believe because you did research on your own and have some sort of evidence to back up what you believe or don't believe. So are you in blind faith like the ones in Middle East who blindly believe in blowing themselves up because they're brained washed? So Christians or Atheist, you are no diffrent if you believe in Blind faith. Am I right?

I know - this isnt a religious question, so I will make it one...

Two weeks ago, a member put up a question towards atheists - basically, it was a list of famous people who have died after saving something disparaging about God, such as Lennon's comments about the Beatles being bigger than Jesus and then getting shot. My response was simple: "I deny the Holy Spirit. Why hasnt God struck me dead yet?" That night, on the way home, I was struck by a car on the Bay Bridge, almost running me over as I was knocked off my mototcycle at 45mph. (no broken bones, just a few bruises and a badly sprained right knee and hand...)

So, was my accident God's revenge? If so, why did he not take my life?? Is it possible that Joe Rocket safety gear is more powerful that God's magic?

Either way, its great to be back with you guys. I may have not been missed - but I missed you peeps!

Why can't they put me, my family, my friends or even a person from our Islamic community on the media?

These "Muslims" on tv are barely that! They definately do NOT represent the average Muslim. I've NEVER EVER encountered an "Islamic radical" in all my years of being Muslim and attended Islamic events (which r usually open to non-Muslims too!) So why then does the media continue to let evil triumph over good? Why do they spread lies and propganda to ppl that can barely think for themselves about something they know little about?

Isn't it unfair that as an "informer" they are instead instigators?

The title is "Do You Have a Immortal Soul".
I glanced through it and there is interesting topics inside. But because I just don't want to skip around I will get to one that is by far the most interesting in this magazine "Have You Sinned Against the Holy Spirit?" I guarantee I will be reading that article today.
Now my question, it is about the resurrection of the dead. It says "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment." (John 5: 28,29)
What does that mean to a resurrection of judgment? Do they have a trial time or instant judgment?
Oh I should add, I went to the Kingdom Hall to see if I could get a Bible, but they had none. This very nice and polite woman told me she will order one for me. This other man said he had a extra one and loan it to me until mines come in. How nice! I will get to see them again soon.

As the nation's 80th Attorney General -- a position he took in February, 2005, after the Senate vote 60-36 to confirm his nomination -- Gonzales extended his representation of Bush into should be an independent federal agency. He defended the president's authorization of an illegal warrantless wiretapping program.

Revelations about the firing of eight U.S. Attorneys who were seen by the administration as insufficiently political in their investigations and prosecutions opened up an investigation that has begun to confirm a broad scheme to politicize the Justice Department's work in the area of voting rights -- a scheme apparently designed by Rove to suppress turnout by minorities and others who might vote Democratic.

he investigation into those machinations has hit the administration hard -- so hard that the president is now jettisoning his oldest and closest aides in order to prevent the inquiry from evolving into a serious examination of his own lawlessness.

My husband has some family friends that previously said very untrue things about me that affected my relationship with my in-laws. My father in law was childhood neighbors with this man and they are both from the same village. Being that my in-laws live overseas and had not met me at this point, they took this gossip very seriously. Last year, this person apologized and I feel that I have forgiven him and his wife, but I also do not want to have a close relationship with these people. Now the wife wants to throw me a baby shower, and it would be mostly with people I do not know well, so I declined. Now they are upset that I do not want to be on social terms with them and they call my husband to complain that I am "Talking to them badly." I feel that I have forgiven them for what they did in the past, but I want to protect myself from future hurt by maintaining close relations with them. Is this defeating the nature of forgiveness, or am I entitled to forgive but protect myself?

Has anyone changed so far?

For example: You hear of an accident in which a young man sustains serious injuries, his condition is critical, and his medical prognosis is guarded. As a Christian, you feel led to pray for him and his family in this situation.

How do you pray for him, if he is --

A member of your own church?
Known to be an evangelical?
A Catholic?
Of a different faith, i.e., Muslim or Jewish?
Not a believer in God at all?

Or -- you have no idea what his beliefs are?

Is your prayer for his healing and recovery and his family's comfort different for any of these scenarios than others, or is it the same? In other words, is there usually a conversion addendum to your prayers for those not of your beliefs even when that's not the main reason for your prayer?

I'm sincerely interested. Hopefully the fact that I'm Catholic won't color your response.

My religious questions keep on getting removed. And I have seen questions that are ALOT worse. Like ones asking how to kill Jews that are still in the USA. they are STILL on yahoo answers!!!! Is it because I am agnostic and someone is upset and flagging all my answers EVEN nonreligious ones. Or is Yahoo! Answers employees are utterly religious? I'M PISSED. FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

I just saw a question on here from the church folks that jogged another question for me. They asked if any atheists are afraid of believing in god, cause they might be called stupid.

So I make a somewhat converse query.

Do you sit in church on occasion, hearing the preacher spout nonsense --

And are you afraid to stand up and say "Brothers and Sisters, the Bible god was invented by that pervert Moses and his syphilitic half-borther Aaron (not to mention their hunchback one-tooth sister Myriam)!"?

Would it help if I said that several people have seen me do it? (You can't interrogate them)

What if, instead, I told you that there were many people who saw a man levitate about ten years ago? Is this believable?

I don't get it all all. I've seen several responses to this Vick case saying that he shouldn't really be punished very much because animals aren't as important as human beings. What the heck? Who cares if they aren't as important-you think a monetary fine is acceptable for torturing, maiming, and killing any creature is acceptable? I believe that any human who can cruelly torture any creature (especially if you believe god created everything) deserves to be punished-not slapped on the wrist and patted on the head.
What do you think? Is it very christian to torture and abuse? I thought all sins were the same-so how can you poo-poo this issue and then get all up in arms about someone being gay?

Hell is a hugely unpopular subject, yet Jesus talked about it. Whatever happend to hell? Has it disappeared? Or are we simply unable to defend this Biblical doctrine?

Here's mine, tell me if you agree or not:
I believe it's deeper than just saying don't tell lies. I believe we need to white lie now and then to not hurt others. So this meaning is that we must face the truth about ourselves. We can't deny reality by saying how pretending to be goody person but when no one is looking we do the bad. So the meaning is reference to ourselves not so much lieing to others. Right? In other words, stop being a hypocrite.

Could someone please give me more information
AND provide links/resources about the "Duty to God" awards in B.S.A.?

I could not find anything online, or much in the Scout Handbook. I need the information ASAP. I am going to put together a presentation and information booth at a local multi-cultural event.

Thanx in advance!
