I know - this isnt a religious question, so I will make it one...

Two weeks ago, a member put up a question towards atheists - basically, it was a list of famous people who have died after saving something disparaging about God, such as Lennon's comments about the Beatles being bigger than Jesus and then getting shot. My response was simple: "I deny the Holy Spirit. Why hasnt God struck me dead yet?" That night, on the way home, I was struck by a car on the Bay Bridge, almost running me over as I was knocked off my mototcycle at 45mph. (no broken bones, just a few bruises and a badly sprained right knee and hand...)

So, was my accident God's revenge? If so, why did he not take my life?? Is it possible that Joe Rocket safety gear is more powerful that God's magic?

Either way, its great to be back with you guys. I may have not been missed - but I missed you peeps!

Yes, you've definately been missed, Mr. So-crates! I'm glad to see that you're back.

Wow, that's quite a dramatic story! The "fundie" in me immediately thought "He didn't take your life because He was making a point." Upon reflection, I have to agree with my initial impression -- so I won't change it.

Do you know the story about Jesus knocking Paul off his horse on the road to Damascus? I see a distinct similarity here, although I'm very glad you didn't lose your sight.

Ohmygosh! That must have been scary. Glad you weren't seriously injured. Although I don't feel God exacts revenge like that, you could look at it as having been given a second chance to learn more about God and faith. Can't really hurt (no pun intended!), and you might understand something you didn't before, looking at it from a new perspective and all. Hope this isn't sounding "preachy"; but you did ask. Anyway, really glad you're ok.

We are told that such acts are NOT of GOD. HE does not use acts of revenge in the judgment of others. HE will send CHRIST as our Judge at the Judgment and all will be Judged, each and every one of us. Hopefully, by then you will find a place in HIS TRUTH to act according to HIS WILL. Have a nice week.
Thanks,
Eds

PS... I have not been on here much to miss you either. I am glad that you are back though!

Maybe it was a warning. God has mercy on who He will have mercy. I wouldn't test that much further.

Some people can stare evidence in the face and deny it is evidence. How they can do this is confusing to me...
