Tthe Wiccans, you will say, do not have faith in God. Yet by their own theology, they certainly do. Those who call them Satan-worshippers are entirely wrong. They do not worship Satan, or even believe that Satan exists. Instead, they worship a Goddess and a God whom they understand as manifestations of a higher and unknown Deity.

Now, if you are a Christian, this will sound familiar to you, and it should. In the Bible we find the following: Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, "Men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are very religious; for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you.'" (Acts 17:22-23)
The Wiccans worship the Unknown God, as manifested to them in the form of a Goddess and a God. Therefore, our Bible tells us they worship the same God we do; and if they do not know this, we should know it!

One poster on another question said I wish to kill homosexuals. This was on a morality question? Makes me wonder why they assume I wish them harm. It was not me that killed anyone. Second as a Christian my job is not to condemn you but to speak about the love of God. What does this mean, Christ did not come to condemn but to show love. So Atheist why do some of you assume that Christian hate or wish you harm?Just because you do not believe does not give me a right to sentence you to hell.

Christians do you believe that we are to judge atheist or to show love? Is so what is some verse that express this in your opinion? And if not back it with scripture?

The Roman Catholic feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was celebrated on August 15th,and,my parents, who are devout Catholics, went to the local Catholic church on that date for a mass in honor of this feast because,in the Catholic church,it's a holy day of obligation.

I went on the dictionary part of Yahoo!Education and looked up the word assumption regarding this matter and this is one of the definitions:

Christianity - The taking up of the Virgin Mary into heaven in body and soul after her death.

So,if she died, then how is it possible that she has made appearances in places like Lourdes,Guadalupe,Fatima, and
Medugorge?

And those are the known normal apparitions of her. Some of the more wild & offbeat ones have been under bridges,on the sides of buildings, and even on bread!

How does human responsibility interact with our Creator's responsibility?

It would appear that If human responsibility is overemphasized, then faith can turn into into legalism, without an appreciation for God's active power in our lives.

If God's responsibility is overemphasized, ones faith can turn into fatalism, losing the emphasis on obedience to God and service to others.

Can both co-exist, or does one negate the other?

In other words, can it possibly be 50/50 (or 90/10 for that matter), or does one make the other impossible?

How would you describe the relationship between the two, or is it one, and not the other?

I'm really looking for an answer to this one.

And usually by people of a faith that once was persecuted and so they should know better then to treat others the way they were treated all over the question of faith or lack thereof.
Some might not see it that way.But if you look all around you will find that not having beliefs can prevent you from many things. You can't hold certain public offices for instance. You're treated as less of a person. You're seen as immoral. You're treated as someone who is untrustworthy. All because you are a Atheist.Such persecution was reserved for Christians at one time. Now it is many Christians who persecute.

All of this because a person chooses to embrace rationality in an age of science and chooses to take responsibility for their own destiny rather then look into a religious book and hope to find the answers there and all because a person chooses not to side with one religion or another over a question of who is right and who is wrong and would rather know that neither has any evidence either way.

Scientist predict they will soon be able to create life from chemicals. This proves that creation stories are false. Or does it? This life is being created in labs with extremely controlled conditions. Exacting amount of chemicals and the chemicals are not being formed out of thin air. But even given that if this life is created what does it mean for Christians? We should rejoice if they are able to do this. It proves that an intelligent designer is needed for the creation of life. If not the scientists would be able just to pour a bunch of chemicals together and get life. What do you think?

itself created themselves from nothing, without an external cause (God). For if time itself didn't exist prior to the Big Bang, wouldnt that require somthing existing outside of time to initiate things? If not, doesn't that contradict science which tells us nothing can be in motion, unless something first puts it in motion?

If someone is truly psychic, shouldn't they be accurate, meaning right at least a little more than they are wrong? What about when they work on things like missing people, and their wrong information actually botches an investigation?

Usually I won't go into religion, but tonight I feel like doing so. I'm sorry in advance if this insults anyone.

Okay, someone asked about women as preachers. I found a passage from the Bible that speaks out against women even talking in church. Do you think that this is outdated, since society has changed and most people recognize (as they should) that genders are equal? Do you think that women should be recognized as equal in every way-- allowed to speak in church and become the head of the household? Why or why not?

"Let your women keep silence in the churches:
for it is not permitted unto them to speak;
but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law."

"And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church."
