Because there are a lot of the same errors in Josephs KJV Bible and the BoM

Wuzzle665, my memory is vague so I can't remember off the top of my head. But I remember reading in a book called "An Insider's View of Mormon Origins" that many of the errors found in Josephs bible are in the BoM as well, I'll do my homework and get back with you as soon as I can.

Well, the Mormons are a gullible bunch of of heathens. Ask any Mormon wife. I find it strange that Joseph Smith was "given" the truth supposedly by the angel Moroni, and he "translated " it in stolen King James version. Does that make sense? In the mean time, he was out seducing young married women, daughters, and any "hot " young things for his carnal pleasures. I am just repeating what is known history of this early American Charlatan. His legacy continues through the Mormon "D & C", which is a set of rules for promotion of polygamy and various other "rules" that the "living prophets" stress in the teachings. It is pure crap and I cannot understand how so many people can buy into this monumental con. The Mormons have got it good right now, but they can't answer one single question with facts. I think Spielberg or some other Hollywood person should make a movie out of the Book of Mormon. Pure fantasy. So, in answer to your question, the Mormons believe in the Book of Mormon, but it wasn't translated at all, it was plagiarized and spun from the King James version. There are a whole lot of questions that arise, such as evil people being marked by black skin. Of course, the modern "prophets" have changed a lot of the text to suit the needs of modern society. Joseph Smith must be rotting in hell in his special underwear, waiting for all of the followers to join him with their wives and daughters.

Actually, yes, the standards for the Book of Mormon are the same as for the Bible. Neither is perfect, as they were written and translated by MAN, who is not perfect. The Bible has just come thru more years and more translations and more interpretations than the Book of Mormon has.

Nothing, and I mean NOTHING that is written or translated by a man is ever completely perfect. It just can't be. But that is the joy of being man. We can make mistakes, and hopefully learn from them.

And, as a question for the asker... what errors are you reffering too exactly? Actual interest, not sarcasm or argument (yet). =)

-EDIT-
Thanks for the link. I know I could Google and get a hundred anti-mormon sites... I was just wondering if you were speaking of specific errors or not.

Yes, Joseph Smith said that the Book of Mormon was the most correct book, which leaves a little wiggle room.

Wait a sec.. is that a trick question? Don't you know the BOM is a perfect translation despite it's thousands of changes/corrections since the initial publication?

Yeah. But we don't know all of the Lord's things anyways. We always keep learning and learning. We will never know everything.
