The idea of being in the presence of God is appealing and not having to go work a crummy job would be nice but after awhile just having everything perfect and hunky dory seems kind of boring

The other thing is what's heaven to me is not likely to be heaven to someone else. I kind of like the idea of hanging out in heaven for awhile and maybe being given the option to go on a "mission" ie live another life that will impact others. One answerer mentioned he wants to find out if his daughter met David from the bible. Technically, we should never have met David if God just "makes" us and doesn't send us back here.
Of course, I'd take Heaven over Hell any day but I'm interested other peoples ideas of Heaven and what they hope it could/would be.

As a Christian, I agree fully with you ! Of course, you can not find the statement within the bible, which directly says, "when you die, you go to heaven" - this is only conjecture.
When I read the Book of Revelation from the Bible, I read that heaven is coming down to the earth, called, "New Jerusalem" where God, the Father, will reside. I read about a time of "restitution" - where peace will be assured - no death, no crime, no war, no lack of anything good for us and no Satan, the Devil ! It will be a time of revitalization for the earth under the rule of Jesus Christ - hardly a boring time. May be (speculation) it might include the whole universe.

No, I'd love it if my life were honky dory all the time. Maybe my life is just shitty. No, I've never been one of those who found not working and **** boring. I think you are also looking at it from a human point of view. It would be like an everlasting orgasm. Not to put it in a sexual references, but it would be like that but each second feeling like it was just the perfect moment. God can remove bordom. It's not like our human senses would be. I mean, you eat a bowl of ice cream and the last bite is not as good as the first because the tongue has been desensitized. Your perfume still isn't smelly after 10 minuets. That doesn't come to play in heaven. Or at least I wouldn't think so. But what the hell do I know. I am an atheist anyways.

people have always wondered about this as a matter of fact in Jesus time there were two predominant religious groups, the Pharisee and Sadducee. The Pharisee believed in heaven but the Sadducee didn't. The Sadducee thought heaven was not logical therefore not real. But as far as heaven being boring I would think it would be anything but boring. God will issue us new "glorified" bodies which will be capable of experiencing things that we can't phantom with our present minds and bodies.

The footnote in my Life Application Bible says in regard to 1 Cor. 2:9.....
We cannot imagine all that God has in store for us both in this life and for eternity. He will create a new heaven and a new earth (Isaiah 65:17; Revelation 21:1), and we will live with him forever. Until then, his Holy Spirit comforts and guides us. Knowing the future that awaits us should give us hope and courage to press on in this life, to endure hardship, and to avoid giving in to temptation. This world is not all there is.
I can tell you that I have heard a number of people give their testimony of what it was like in heaven...... as a result of dying in an accident and their spirit leaving their body temporarily, then coming back to their body as it was not their time to die permanently. I can hardly wait to go there........!!

read what apostle Paul said concerning heaven as he went there. (2 corinthians 12:4) it says that he was "snatched away to paradise (third heaven) and heard inexpressible things, things which a man is not permitted to tell."
the world portrays heaven as a place where people fly around on wings and clouds everywhere with all the time in the world and nothing to do.
You Sophia, have this worldly view.

Mark Twain said that he found it strange that people were planning on playing the harp and singing in heaven when they didn't choose to do much of that while on Earth, and that no one ever mentioned enjoying in heaven what everyone on Earth seemed to enjoy - sex and drink.

Think of all the people you will be able to talk to. I want to talk to King David and find out if my daughter hung out with him before God sent her to me. I used to read her the story of 'David' and she lost that little book and came to me and asked, "Where's Dave?" We DO NOT have any friends named Dave that she could have confused 'David' with 'Dave'. I just thought it was so cute. I also want to find out exactly how many angels were out our plane window when we were flying to my mother's house and I was reading to my daughter who was 11 months at the time. It was a little story book about the meaning of Christmas and is showed the gifts under the Christmas tree and how they relate to the gifts the Wise Men brought to Baby Jesus, it showed the Angel on the tree and how it relates to the Angel in the heavenly announcing the birth of Jesus to the shepherds. I asked her if she saw the angel (expecting her to point to the angel in the book) and she looked and pointed out the window of our plane. Now THAT was comforting =) That's just for starters. Think of talking to Jesus Himself! I don't think I will EVER be bored in Heaven!!

If it is the same heaven that believes God is an old man with a white beard, yes. If you expland your mind and know that there is so much more to learn then you can comprehend, then no.

Boring? You mean like "haaving everything you want" boring? Well if it is your taste, there will be a lot of action in hell. But it may just be a little too hot to handle. I'd rather be thrilled to boredom.
