My Life Application Study Bible reads...
vs 30 And why should we ourselves risk our lives hour by hour?
vs 31 For I swear dear brothers and sisters that I face death daily. This is as certain as my pride in what Christ Jesus our Lord has done in you.

Paul, who wrote 1 Corinthians, was under constant attack because he had converted to Christianity. He originally had been one of the leading Christian persecutors. And he accepted and knew that his persecution would continue as long as he was a follower of Christ.

It means that you die to the flesh. You live every day in a Christlike manner, you do as Christ would as often as possible. You don't do the things of the world you keep the faith.

smiley: That is from the apostle Paul, in his reiteration to the church at Corinth. Paul is stating the sacrifice he makes everyday day for living as a Christian, in the Christian way (mirroring the love of Jesus Christ to others). Paul is using the analogy of death to give emphasis to his Christian walk.

You know what has helped me when I get stuck. I take the passage and look it up in Strong's and define down every single word to ensure I am reading and understanding it correctly.

Sometimes I also use Webster.com to define a word down farther or to see where it originated from to understand the Greek, Latin, Hebrew or English in the word.

A simple, easy to use Strong's I found: http://www.blueletterbible.org/

It means that when he gets up every morning, he gives his will over to God, thus allowing his carnal, human nature to die, and allowing God to give him a spiritual nature.

It has to be done daily because every day is a new day, and we always--every day--have free choice, given to us by God.

(Live works a lot better for everyone when you do it that way, incidentally.)

Paul lays his life on the line. Meaning that He gives up that which is temporal for what is eternal. Paul puts everything into them, money, time, and spirit to make them stronger.

Everyday we need to die to self. We need to put Christ in the forefront of our day. What He is willing, not our-self.

It means that the God referenced in that book is confused.

Stop reading that nonsense unless you are prepared to contrast it with the clarity contained in the first three volumes of Conversations with God by Neale Walsch.

Do you think that the one who created everything under the Sun is confused about anything?
