Atheists want to remove "One nation under God" from the Pledge. They are now fighing for "a moment of silence" to be removed from public places. A school in West Virginia was ordered to remove a picture of Jesus in the hallway and to top it all off.. Iran wants to destroy Zionism.

End of the world? Ummm, Yuppers...

I ask because I think a beast is a rich, powerful institution that controls the world, or a large portion of it by all manner of manipulation and fear mongering. I can only think of one such institution that has had and still maintains that kind of power and it has one main image all must worship or die- or end up in hell . . . Hint . . . "it looks like a lamb but speaks like a dragon."

Genesis 2:7
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
In the Creation account, Adam, the newly created man, came alive when God Breathed into him "the breath of Life."
So what is a Soul?

There are a lot of people asking about morals. So where do they come from. Is it your religion, the way you were raised, or something that you learn over time?
Would good, kind people that have never experienced religion be considered to be immoral, even if they help hundreds or thousands?

I have my own opinions, just opening up for debate.

We talked about marriage in heaven. Of course he is like everyone eles, there are no marriages in heaven.

I tryed to tell him that Gods will is not being done on earth as it is in heaven. He said that is ment for latter, not now. Right now we do not do his will.
he brought of celibancy, I said to him, that way is incorrcet. For you walk like a gay person and bring forth no life, ignoring your body.... Not ment to insult.
I said Jesus has a wife the chruch, and the father has a wife the Jews, you have no wife. He said my wife is Jesus's wife. I said no you have no wife. Funny Catholics are strongly against devorce and adutury, but the prist walk as if they have no bride, and take Jesus bride for them selfs. Sounds funny...:)

in my eyes anyway... This is not the way to walk as per marriage. But the rest of the church I like so far, over the pentacostal church and the other denominations.

Why do many religions say they're "the only path."? Isn't that kind of self-centered.?

James 5:14-15 tells us that if we are sick to call on the elders. Those who are healed also receive forgiveness of sin.Sin is the fountain of all our infirmatives, forgiveness is the fondation of all our healings. When we find ourselves sick we should be more concerned that our sins be forgiven than our sickness removed.

Let's face it. As long as they're exposed to happy joyful Christians they're going to be continue to be full of impotent rage and hate. So, we should find them a place where they won't be bothered by "fundie Christians". A place with wide open spaces. And no "fundie Christians". Saudi Arabia!

I'll chip in for the plane tickets.

Basically the ones who can not deal with the fact that there may be a possibility that when they die there will be nothing at the end. They are not brain washed, i think they are just missing a gene. If there is a gene for having an open mind, an introspective logical thought process. Any religious person in my opinion is missing this for sure. They ask the same questions as others, why are we here?, what happened when we die? etc.... but the firing mechanism of the brain inevitably leads them to a blind ally, which frightens them and leaves them no option but to look for a higher explanation, eventually they will adopt the predominant religion within their community, or any other one that makes sense to them, depending on how much research they put into this task.
In the end they make camp in this blind alley, and do some decorating, awaiting to be rescued some day, This is good for them. If it makes them happy who am i to argue! Just don't try to decorate any of my alleys!!!!

I don't need to know the WIkipedia entry. I just need to know if practicing mysticism (which involves communing with supernatural or deified entities, such as GOD) would involve using magic.
If the mystic is in spiritual communion with a godly presence then the mystic would perform magic right?

What happens to people who have good morals, live a good life and don't committ any crimes but don't practise any religion and don't believe in god because the overwhelming lack of evidence? What happens to all the people who died not knowing of the existence of Jesus, Mohammed and Moses? This is what originally turned me against religion when I was 13, but the more I though about it the more I knew God doesn't exist (at least not as we know him/her/it) and there is no right religion.

He 'took the sin penalty'? I don't understand why that was necessary. Does that mean everyone who committed sins goes to heaven and Jesus is going to hell FOR us?

But that doesn't make any sense, you Christians preach that sinners go to hell. So if sinners are still going to hell regardless, what did Jesus' death accomplish?

So what does it mean? Jesus being killed has no correlation with anything you claim it was for. It's like saying "I stubbed my toe for your mortgage", There is no correlation.

The good book tells us that we should forgive those that ask for it, and we will be given forgiveness if we ask for it. However, what if someone does us wrong and they do not ask for forgiveness? Should we still forgive them even if they do not acknowledge they have done wrong? Or should be only forgive others when asked for forgiveness?
