What happens to people who have good morals, live a good life and don't committ any crimes but don't practise any religion and don't believe in god because the overwhelming lack of evidence? What happens to all the people who died not knowing of the existence of Jesus, Mohammed and Moses? This is what originally turned me against religion when I was 13, but the more I though about it the more I knew God doesn't exist (at least not as we know him/her/it) and there is no right religion.

both ideas are silly and undesirable.

with hell, God doesn't apparently realize how long eternity is... and how his punishment doesn't fit the crimes. they're apparently pretty big on cruel and unusual punishment.

with heaven, you would get bored within weeks. and you've still got eternity left. also, people you know are in hell. and apparently you're just peachy with god and want to worship the fellow that has sent some of your closest family members into a lake of fire. how does christianity account for this? most christians think god must alter our brain chemistry to agree with him. so.... you get modified into a yes man for all eternity.

hell actually seems a little better.

what happens to us? we probably just die. but, who knows? could be anything. hopefully not heaven or hell though. :)

The concept of heaven (a reward for good behaviour or following the "correct" religion) and hell (punishment for sins) is what some say regulates human behaviour in that particular society.

It partly also comes from the fear people have when they think about death.

Nobody really knows if the afterlife exists - perhaps the only thing that matters here on earth is how you treat your family and your friends and how much you are in congruent with your society's needs and goals (which can be good or bad, but there is little we can do about it).

I think that none of us know for sure since none of us have died to tell about it. We just have faith there is something else out there for us when we die. I really cannot believe that if there is a loving and just God that he would punnish a nice person to eternity of Hell. I do not believe in Hell. It makes no sense if you consider God like a parent that loves his children. When kids do things wrong they get punnished. But you want them to learn from it and you make the punnishment fit the crime. Is it a crime to not believe in Jesus....so much of a crime that it is a fair sentence to be sent to eternal torment? I do not believe a fair and just God would do that. I believe he judges each persons heart individually. However, this is just faith.

As to the second question the bible says God's word is written on everyone's heart so if they have not known of Jesus but obeyed His commands as written on their heart they go to heaven. Now you ask a question about heaven yet deny God. What will it matter to you now? Only later will it matter and then it will be too late. It might help for you to read a book called "A Case For Christ" and " A Case For Faith. where experts are interviewed for there opinion on many of the questions that came to your mind when you were making your decision.
And be careful of being sure what you know without looking at all the information.

I don't believe in eternal resting places [Heaven] or eternal damnation [Hell]. I especially do not believe in Hell. I think such places are tactics in order to scare us into being good people. I remember I was scared to death being told of hell, satan, etc as a child; I vowed that I'd never use fear mongering to get a child to be a good person.

I believe in reincarnation. I believe once we die and our physical bodies return to the earth, our souls go to be renewed and rejuvenated, then returned to earth as another life-form, whether that form be human, non-human animal, or any other life. Said destinations are dependent upon how you lived your life. If you live your life as a bad person [killer, molester, etc] then you'd come back to relive what your victims went through, etc etc.

Heaven was created to give poor/unfortunate people hope to show up for work the next day and hell was created to scare people from doing bad things.

God is a merciful and loving God as well as being a God of Justice. He takes each person on their own merits. That is why we are not to judge anothers' eternity...we don't have all the information...God does...and makes His judgments according to all the information.

The concept is fine, I just wonder how long it will take before people will realize that there both here on earth, It is man that creates heaven and hell not any God.

the life you create for yourself on this earth is the reward or fruit of your labors . the rest is window dressing designed for the less erudite who will believe and act accordingly.
