He 'took the sin penalty'? I don't understand why that was necessary. Does that mean everyone who committed sins goes to heaven and Jesus is going to hell FOR us?
But that doesn't make any sense, you Christians preach that sinners go to hell. So if sinners are still going to hell regardless, what did Jesus' death accomplish?
So what does it mean? Jesus being killed has no correlation with anything you claim it was for. It's like saying "I stubbed my toe for your mortgage", There is no correlation.

To purify our sins?
What does that mean though??!! Does that mean sins no longer exist because jesus purfied them? If Jesus purified our sins then why do sins still exist and why do people still go to hell?

Sanji:
Are you saying jesus dying can physically transmute into purified sins? Why would god go through all that when could just snap his finger and accomplish the same thing?

blessed in hymn:
What do you mean by 'second chance"? are you saying that before Jesus died you couldn't commit any sins or you'd go to hell and Jesus dying created a new 'policy' in which you could now ask for forgiveness or a 'second chance'?
Well, why did Jesus have die just to simply establish a new rule or policy? Couldn't God just simply change his mind and tell us himself? and even if you want to say Jesus was a messenger, why did he HAVE to die? I understand that it was blaspheme and the Jews sentenced him to death for saying he was a prophet or whatever, but that was an effect not the cause.

In the old Testament the law said that a spotless lamb had to be Sacrificed for sin. But it wasn't really a fair trade since we are humans and the lamb is an animal. Jesus was the perfect sacrifice because He was human however, death only has power over humans with sin. Since Jesus had no sin He was able to Resurrect Himself after He had preached to those in Hell. Jesus says "so now that my house is unlocked here's the directions"-Acts 2:38. But you still have to follow the directions or you won't get to His house.

Jesus had to die for the blood sacrifice, that God required, so when he died he took upon himself the sins of the world, so he died for your sins also.
For all have died and fall short of the glory of God.
For all people have sinned at one time or another, and to God all sins are the same, Have you ever taken anything that doesn't belong to you, and etc. There are many areas of sin that people do on a daily basis, so all have sinned, there is no one who hasn't sinned even Christians sin everyday, and we have to be quick to repent or we will be charged with that sin.

I understand your confusion. The Bible teaches that Jesus died for the sins of His people, His sheep.
Mat 1:21 And she will bear a son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins.
Joh 10:11 I am the Good Shepherd! The Good Shepherd lays down His life on behalf of the sheep.
Joh 10:15 Even as the Father knows Me, I also know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.
Not everyone is considered "His sheep".
Joh 10:26 But you do not believe for you are not of My sheep, as I said to you.
Joh 10:27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
Jesus took the punishment for our sin upon Himself. The punishment that we deserved, He took in our place. Those who die unforgiven, who have not been redeemed by His sacrifice, die in their sins and face the judgment. It was never our decision or choice, God chose out those for salvation before the earth was even created and set forth a plan to save those people through Christ's death and resurrection.

I must humbly say you sound confused and probably because you've been listening to religious nuts.
Well, don't feel like a loner. I've been there too...
According to the Synoptics (Gospels), Jesus died without sin taking the place of those with sin so that whoever acknowledges their sins and their need of a savior that is, Jesus, will enjoy eternety with God. Jonh 3:15-19.
Since Jesus died sinless, Death nor Satan had any power over Him so Hell is a "jailhouse" He owns. (See book of Ephesians). But conversely, Jesus regained the power to mankind's eternal fate after His ressurrection and He passed such decision right to us. You determine where you'll spend eternity not necessarily by what you do, but if you simply believe in His sacrifice for your sins. (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8)
The fact you become a Christian (from the greek Christ + Ian = follower of Christ) doesn't mean that from that moment on you're sinless nor superior to anybody else.(1John 1:4-9) It simply means that as you strive to be a better person, when you fail, through Jesus God will forgive you always.(Hebrews 4)
According to the Christian faith/teachings of Jesus, all one must do is repent of their shortcomings and simply believe in Jesus to be "saved." Coined by Jesus "follow me."
On the other hand, religious hypocrites on many churches and on T.V. proudly, arrogantly and erronesouly say that they now are "superheroes and fly above everyone else." In my opinion their sins and proud life stink worse than anything...
Another important fact to consider is that not everthing that the religious people state is true, is indeed true when compared to what Jesus said. (Read it for yourself).
And running with what you've quoted, James states that "there is only one God and legislator." I also don't understand why those fools try to take God's place every Sunday and send the masses to hell for not conforming to their hypocrisy and vily-currupted system...
All in all, becareful with religion. Religion is a man-made system that offers to interpret the bible in their own narrow-minded way, so that whoever does not follow their cult strictly will miserably perish. It has nothing to do with the truth Christ proclaimed, although they malevolently use the bible for their own twisted purposes (e.g. money).
In so many words God says, "come to me as you are and you will find peace." And although you should strive to live a moral and good life, you'll undoubtedly die with many sins, bad habbits and possibly addictions, depending on who you have been. But as long as you follow Jesus and believe He paid the price for ALL your sins; although modern-time "pharisees" may accuse and condemn you here - in eternety, according to the bible, God will take you by His side and cast away to "hell" many who in this planet falsely proclaimed to be His people...

God has allowed us to make a decision to seek Him or to reject Him. The decision to seek Him is the decision to embrace a love, agape love, that has no motive. It is a love that doesn't need something in return, not even good feelings. We long in our hearts for such a love but we don't really believe that such a love exists. When Jesus died on the cross, He showed us that such love does exist so now we can hope for such love to come into our own being.

If we are born into sin because we descended from Adam, then sin is not the result of our actions as individuals but rather a result of our birth.
So when Jesus died for our sins, didn't he save everyone from death, whether or not they accept him as savior?

Jesus died and rose again, defeating death. So our sins can be forgiven. But only if you let them be, by repenting and trusting in the redemptive work of the savior.

Jesus died for our sins. Before Jesus, You did not get a second chance, sort to speak. Jesus gave us the oppurtunity to redeem ourselves.
Many unbelievers were stoned to death in the days of the Old Testament. these days, they are given a chance to be forgiven for their sins.
I hope this helps
