I thought he died for our sins? But how? Right now it seems to me that he just died for others. And can't anyone do that?

Yes, I could look it up, but you all make this so much more pleasant.. (:

Should you believe the spirit and deny the written word of God?

Gal.1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

Iran is run by religious Muslims that don't let their people have rights! If Fundamentalist Christians ran America then how would we be any different? They would force Homosexuals to stay closeted and make women dress conservative. Abortion would be illegal and there would probably be a law against blasphemy! In schools we would learn about God and be forced to pray!

If we didn't have a constitution and Fundamentalist Christians ran America, I don’t see how we would be much different from these Islamic countries and Medieval Europe! Everything Fundamentalist Christians want to do is being done by Iran and other Islamic countries (except they're Islamic instead of Christian)!

Why do they hate Iran so much if their goal is to make America a Christian version of Iran? How are these Crazy Christians any different than an Islamic terrorist?

The good thing about America is that we have the right to choose what we do and who we worship! Why do Christians want to control what I do so badly? Do they not realize that that’s how things are done in Middle Eastern nations? Have they never heard of Medieval Europe and what things were like when The Church ran everything? Why would our founding fathers leave a Christian nation that oppressed its people just to set up a new one? They didn’t!! And I think we should keep it that way!

Hypothetically, picture a society that has never been exposed to religion but considers murder to be morally wrong. Why would a society like this consider murder to be morally wrong?

Please take this as a challenge and don't appeal to religion or God.

The Bible says that Adam and Eve, in their fallen state, were driven from Paradise (Eden) to prevent them from living forever by eating of the Tree of Life. Why is that better than continuing the present human race into living indefinitely? Isnt NYC an example of the slow but sure, up and down, degradation of following our own imaginations?

Who is he where did he come from and why does he exist. Why does anything exist at all. Who/What made God.

Please think beyond your faith because this is a bigger question than any religion deals with.

Why is there something rather than nothing!!!

If you think he's just been there forever, then what the heck. I'm trying to make sense of that. So there's this complicated intelligence that just merely exists, always has and always will. So he sits there for eternity (or outside of time) and then he decides to make something that is outside of himself just for fun? (the universe and everything in it)

I don't get it. It's unintelligble to me. I never understood it as a Christian and it makes no sense to me now as an agnostic.

Many people learned in elementary school that a theory falls in the middle of a hierarchy of certainty--above a mere hypothesis but below a law. Scientists DO NOT use the terms that way, however.

According to the National Academy of Sciences (NAS), a scientific theory is "a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world that can incorporate facts, laws, inferences, and tested hypotheses." No amount of validation changes a theory into a law, which is a descriptive generalization about nature. So when scientists talk about the theory of evolution--or the atomic theory or the theory of relativity, for that matter--THEY ARE NOT EXPRESSING RESERVATIONS ABOUT IT'S TRUTH.

In addition to the theory of evolution, meaning the idea of descent with modification, one may also speak of the FACT of evolution. The NAS defines a fact as "an observation that has been repeatedly confirmed and for all practical purposes is accepted as 'true.'"

Maybe if those who've experienced it compare notes and work together a strategy can be devised to stop it.

Three boys are in a school yard bragging about their fathers.

The first boy says, "My dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, calls it a poem, and they give him $50."

The second boy says, "That's nothing. My dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, calls it a song, and they give him $100."

The third boys says, "I got you both beat! My dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls it a sermon....and it takes eight people to collect all the money!"
