This is what Jesus says:
"And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him."
Then Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, "But, Lord, why do you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world?"
Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.
"All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you."

Not true Latter-day Saints do not teach that the Holy Spirit and Holy Ghost are different. The Bible dictionary in that is put into the back of the LDS edition of the King James version of the Bible states "Other names that sometimes refer to the Holy Ghost are Holy Spirit, Spirit of god, Spirit of the Lord, Comforter, and Spirit."
On a side note for those who might be wondering the LDS edition of the King James version of the Bible has the complete UNALTERED text of the King James version of the Bible the differences in the LDS edition are to add an extensive footnote system, chapter headings that summarize the contents of a chapter, a topical guide to aide in finding scriptures on certain subjects, a bible dictionary, maps showing the areas around where the Bible events take place at, and photographs of various biblical sites.

Anyone who says this is simply ignorant of the Hebrew and Greek texts the Bible was originally recorded in. The Hebrew 'ruach' means "spirit, wind, or breath." Ruach ha kodesh means "Holy Spirit."
The Greek of the New Testament era uses 'Pneuma' to convey the same meaning.
In Middle English any reference to the Spirit, or a spirit used the word 'ghost.' A spiritual person was even said to be a 'ghostly person!' Although the word 'spirit' had come into common use by the time of the A.D. 1611 King James translation, 'ghost' was still often used. 'Spirit' and 'ghost' translat THE SAME words in both Hebrew and Greek.
Holy Ghost=Holy Spirit.

The Spirit of God can be defined as the Lord's spirit which every single person born on this earth is entitled to have with them...
The Holy Ghost, a spirit personage of a man and thrid member of the Godhead...his companionship is promised as a gift after baptism - at the time of confirmation - and will remain with that person as long as that person is faithful and stays away from sin. Those who have received his companionship can also lose it if they go down the wrong path... others can feel the Holy Ghost, he is the means to spiritual truths being revealed.

The Holy Spirit and the Holy Ghost are the same thing. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Church does not teach that the two are the same.

Well, I don't know the Mormon view, but in Christianity, they are the same, God in 3 persons, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Jesus Christ said the Holy Spirit would lead you in all the things that Jesus Taught in the New Testament. For encouragement, listen to ttb.org. good luck.

The Mormons are screwy.
The Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity, who comes to testify to the human spirit about the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ; to bring conviction of sin, repentance, and the new birth, Spiritual birth, through faith in the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Gospel which is disclosed in the writings of the New Testament. May I recommend to you the Gospel of John and the Epistle to the Romans.

the holy spirit and the holy ghost are the same thing. it is the mediator between god, Jesus, and humanity. It is the strength and will given to Christians and the comfort also. The holy spirit fills that void in your life that is there with out god.
