It's common belief that because they do not follow God's Laws and Morals to the letter; that they are lacking proper and entirely all morals.

Do I believe they are entirely immoral? No! But do I believe they are entirely moral? No again. But Christians are not entirely moral for even they stray from God's set standards.

Religion was created by man, and not God. Faith, Hope, Love, and Truth was created by God. There are immoral people in every silly religion and every race. No one is worse or better than others. Some have just accepted their forgiveness and tried to better.

This is stereotyping atheists. We dont trample religion, we disagree with it. We dont have immoral behavior, people say we do so atheism can be wiped out. Atheists actually commit less crimes than those who follow religion, take a look at Iraq! Science isnt a belief, its a large set of facts. I am not sure if you like or dislike atheists based on this. Anyways the only way it could seem more attractive would be if there were no stereotypes and anti-atheistic religions.

No I do not.

I answered a simliar question earlier tonight about morality.

Personal accountability is the best indicator of morality because if a person holds themselves accountable for their actions than they hopefully will choose wisely on how they act.

If you don't use religion to absolve you of all sins and you hold yourself accountable with high standards than you aren't an immoral person.

I have atheist friends. I don't judge them about it. They pay their taxes, they work hard, they mow their lawn haha, they are good parents and we have a fun time together.

I guess what you are assuming is that so many Christians believe Gods law is above man's law so if you don't follow God's laws then you are immoral.

I don't feel that way at all.

I am a christian and I don't judge atheists..........
Do I think all or any athists are immoral, nope that is not my place to judge or any of my business.
It each person's own decision..........
Each person lives with their consequences,,,,,,,,,
for me I know God is real !
I am a hospice nurse..... you wouldn't be an atheists if you have seen or experience some of the heavenly or hellish encounters i have witnessed!
God has given me beauty for ashes and I am a trophy of God's grace.
My heart aches for hurting people and animals.
I just want to love and make a difference in this world.
You can't put any one in a box. it just don't work.
This is my stand .........
What if I am right and their is a God, I am saved and know him......... I am going to heaven........... wonderful.
What if there is no God? hmmm I have lost nothing;
But if there is I have thrown away everything.
All is a broad, broad term here..................
I have enough of my own issues to even attempt judge anyone Else. That would be total arrogance.
I have enough trouble as it is without sticking my nose and judging others.......... Have a great day!

I sometimes feel grateful that I was not raised in a church. My experience came in my mid thirties, and after a short period of a legalistic belief system, I came to realize that I was not at all comfortable with dogma. I was hearing a lot about what they said about Jesus, but not near enough about what Jesus said. I am very comfortable to have friends of all belief systems, and I respect their freedom of expression and realize that the minute I try to censor them, I might be next. This is a great country that is in a transitional period. I am saddened whenever I hear of a minister running for President or any other high political office. I am happy we have not succumbed to a state church. I readily agree with the separation of church and state. I will take issue with one prevalent comment: The prisons are full of Christians. The Ayrian [sp.? Brotherhood is not a Christian group. They thrive on racism and hate, and rule by intimidation. The KKK also claims the Christian banner, but they are not my brother. Black Muslims are a dominate group in prisons. I am sure most peaceful Muslims do not wish to be associated with them. This opinion was formed from a ministry of trying to help prisoners "live beyond the walls."I have much less contention with atheists than narrow minded Christians who can only spout their catechism, but can not give an account of the teachings of Christ. I come in peace, and am grateful to be received for who I am, with my bumps and flaws.

Atheist not believing in God is like me not believing in The Great Pumpkin. Charlie Brown would probably get upset with me if I said there was no Great Pumpkin. I don't believe that all Atheist are immoral. There are some "Christians" whose morals I question sometimes. Yes, I am a Christian and I can't understand why we all can't live together in peace. I don't understand why some atheist go to the Christian section of YA to make fun and jeer. We are all human beings. We all live on the same planet. We all get hurt, get mad, get defensive. Let's just get over it and if not friends, then just peaceful co-habitants on this planet.

I think we are all imbued with morals of one sort or another which, to take an extreme example, prevent us from eating each other. Even that one is a fairly recent calling. Pity we can't agree on one moral code.. but I suppose that is what all the fuss is about isn't it. Oh dear. I suppose I will just have to have another pork sandwich on Easter Friday and ponder my eternal damnation. I'm thankful that I live in a country where that day is a holiday though.

Perhaps because some Christians believe that their religion is the bedrock of the morality. They may think that those without Christianity are lacking morals. I do not believe all atheists are immoral because that would be a gross generalization. Personally, I am agnostic. I think that it near impossible to prove if God does or does not exist.

They just assume a moral code cannot and does not exist outside of religion, so if you don't believe intheir religion, you must not believe in anything.(If only I had a dollar for each time I've heard that...)

I think some PEOPLE are immoral, it doesn't matter their religion.

But atheists as a whole? Often more moral than their religious counterparts.
