You may give your life to music, or to God. But in the end, you are always looking for something more. It is like you are in a room with a door, and beyond that door, is the truth about everything. I want to find this truth. It is like a part of me is missing. PLEASE HELP!

I've come across a few answers today in the good ol' R&S claiming they are atheists because of "Logic." and that God can't logically exist. Can some atheists elaborate on the actual logic of their beliefs? Like logical arguments in sentence form and all that?

For example, here's a logical argument -for- God's existence:

1. Everything that had a beginning had a cause
2. The universe had a beginning
3. Therefore, the universe had a cause

(God is the "cause" in the argument)

So, I'm waitin' for answers!

I can't just flip a switch and say I believe in this or that. There's something called instinct that makes me believe what I want to believe. Why can't some of you understand that??

I can't stand to be in this room anymore, but I hate missing out on some of the rare good questions. Who do you think asks the best questions? Who should I consider becoming a fan of so I can keep my hand in?

Do you find it pathetic when someone repeatedly asks questions about atheists (or Christians, or Pagans, etc.), and then proceeds to block people of those beliefs from answering? Is it possible this kind of action illustrates fear? And fear of what exactly? Opposing viewpoints perhaps?

I just got blocked by some chick who is asking some very nasty, pointed questions. I've seen this kind of thing before on here and it just leaves me shaking my head.

According to the theory of Evolutionism, when you breed two different animals you get a hybrid. Common examples of this are a liger (lion and tiger) and a wholfin (whale and dolphin).

But there are some animals you can breed and not get a hybrid. For example, according to evolutionist logic, if I breed a horse and a donkey I should either get a honkey or a dorse. But that's not what I get. I either get a mule or a hinny.

This proves that evolution is false. Mules and hinnies are obviously God's creations. Mules are made to bear the burdens of mankind, and hinnies are made so mules have someone to marry. (Otherwise they'd have to marry other mules which would be an abomination of God.)

How do you evolutionastics explain this?

Is there any reason why science and religion can't be blended together beautifully?
Science is based on fact. Everyday science is making new discoveries and coming up with in-depth ideas/theories about how everything works, where we came from, and where we are evolving physically as well as mentally.

But, science can't answer everything. At least not yet. There's still those pesky questions such as:
1. Is there an afterlife?
2. If so, what is it?
3. If not, well, is that it? What happens then?
4. Purpose of life?

Life without purpose almost seems pointless. Why do something without reason? I admit, most religions get carried away and try to control people, not to mention their incredible stories that they claim to be factual. But where would we be without a little guidance and self control?

So, why not let science continue their never-ending quest for the unknown, and let religion do what it was meant to do: Make us want to be better people and help each other out.

We keep seeing comments from people who claim to somehow have been "rescued" from homosexuality via one means or another, and now they supposedly are so much "happier" because they did that. (Personally, even though I'm straight, I think that MOST such claims are an utter CROCK! Most gays I've ever known were quite contented with their sexuality. And we all know that the RRR Cultists will stop at nothing... including blatant LYING... to further their bigoted agendas.)

So I'd LOVE to hear a bonafide story by someone who decided that gay was better, and so chose to become gay.

But I'll bet we never hear of such a case. Why? Two reasons: (1) Gays have no bigoted agendas, and thus no axes to grind.
(2) People are BORN with their sexual orientation. I've never heard of a person's becoming around 12 or so, and saying, "Gee, I don't think I want to mess around with THAT gender anymore. I think I'll be interested in the OTHER (same or opposite) gender."

What are your thoughts?
