Magick, when spelled with a 'k' is very real, especially to those who practice it. However, it's not the stuff you see in movies. Magick mostly refers to the interaction of energies in our world, and specifically refers to the ability of someone to use that energy to affect our reality. The real problem with magick, and why it is not a more accepted principle, is that if someone doesn't really and truly believe in it, then it just doesn't work. Magick is founded upon belief and emotion, and so can be an elusive thing. But it does exist.

For some Magick is very real especially the wiccan and pegan beliefs. Even christianity and Islam acknowledge Magick. Now the classic Fantasy world majick is an integeral part of the fantasy world. So, Magick is very real given the definition is the unexplained or supernatural. But, then again you have to believe in Majick for it to have any reality. There you have it a confused explanation, which by definition is majick, confusion and the unexplained. Does it make sense, no - but then again Magick rarely does.

Magic involves Jinn and in Islam it is strictly forbidden.
The safest way to be protect ourselves against evil spirits (evil jinn or shaitans) is to have a strong loyalty to Allah subhana wa ta'ala and His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). There are verses of the Quran we can say for protection against these evil spirits. Not all Jinn are bad but many are...Iblis (Satan/Lucifer) is their leader.

""O ye assembly of Jinns and men! came there not unto you messengers from amongst you, setting forth unto you My signs, and warning you of the meeting of this Day of yours?" They will say: "We bear witness against ourselves." It was the life of this world that deceived them. So against themselves will they bear witness that they rejected Faith. " [Qur'an 6:130]

"I created the jinn and humankind only that they might worship Me. " [Qur'an 51:56]
