to me it shows a severe case of brainwashing.

As shown above, it's the same old pat answers everytime, for years and years and years. Nothing original, nothing new. Ho hum.

Most of us don't quote unless the question has scripture in it...even then I do not necessarily quote if it is just some random verse taken out of context...It's not really brainwashing, it is using the tool that we believe God has provided for us..However, it is a little pointless to use in an "argument/debate" with someone who doesn't believe in it to begin with...actually it is totally pointless.

what really serves the purpose is telling others about Jesus, and how to be saved. Yes the bible is an big importance in a Christian life.

It helps once in awhile, but regular down to earth language is really the best for communicating ideas, even the harder ones to understand.

I know what you mean. It especially drives me mad when scripture is provided as evidence.
