What is going on with this mysterious character, who was singled out to judge and lead Israel into the Promised Land? Why would a religion that advocates marriage and procreation not include information about their first leader? Shouldn't Joshua have led by example?

Yeah, this is a deep one.....and am so ready for the literary persecution as well.....but if you're on the same page with me.....

I read about it in the Old Testament of the Holy Bible (I think it was Elisha, if I remember correctly) before Christ was even born.....then the Messiah came and did it a couple of times, and a couple of guys that came to know Christ also did it after He died, resurrected and rose into Heaven.....I know that this supernatural phenomenon is known as the "anointing", or the presence of God upon a person's life.....

I am wondering.....outside of defibrillators, CPR and heart injections of adrenaline.....are there any other documented accounts of someone bringing a dead person back to life by supernatural means?

You gotta realize: growing up encased in a conservative, pietist Christian church, I am given to emotional ideas about things. When someone tells me they are atheist, I seem to feel that they actually know a God exists; they simply like being able to act against Him. I mean, honestly, I instantly see them spitting on Jesus as he walks down that road with that cross. Moreover, I have always assumed that an atheist is uneducated on religion--if they had studied, surely they would understand. But after a rather exhaustive search, I've returned empty. Are there others, like me, who sincerely tried, but came back with nothing?

I nearly threw up when I read this googel three squeals for yourself.
if rats feel pain wouldn't babies? we use rats in science labs so they would be a perfect subsitute.

My guidebook claims that live rat embryos are a delicacy in Southern China. The dish is called Three Squeals "since the embryo squeals once when you pick it up with your chopsticks, once again when you dip it in soya sauce, and finally when you put it in your mouth..." (From China: a Travel Survival Kit, Lonely Planet, 1976)

I am referring to how certain religious ideas close people's minds and prevent them from seeing obvious truths, or seeing things from multiple points of view.

Religion, particularly a lot of members from the Abrahamic religions (that I see), seem to have a big problem when it comes to understanding the world from multiple points of view. They see black and white when it comes to certain issues.

It seems obvious that certain issues, such as gay, or transgender issues have a scientific explanation for happening. Yet religion seems to hinder people's acceptance of these things because they aren't keeping an open mind. They are not allowing enough information to be passed through their wall of _________.

Most people within the fences of religion see it as a source of love and tolerance, and that might be mostly true. But how do we help those who are victims of ignorance?

Christians say if Jesus didn't die all people would go to hell .. only his death saved them from this fate.

Because the penalty of sin is death

Why did the christian God put this injust law in the first place?

Didn't the he know that it wont't work? and that his only son will have to die?

Is there evidence of a religion curing anything? Like any disease or illness or anything? And by religion, I'm including people in the religion who cure in the name of their religion or their god or their spiritual power.

I'm just thinking that if religion cures stuff, then why aren't we all Christian Scientists?

Constant mindfulness. Right thought. Right speech. And on it goes.
How good at it all do we have to be?
Do we have to be the best?
Or do we just have to do our best?

Nose to the grindstone? Or eyes on the stars?

I'm serious. I saw a stupid answer earlier stating that if a Muslim woman is living in the US, that she must not have it great in her religion. Uh, hello, do these people forget that many Muslim women in the US are born and raised in the US, and many are converts? Did it ever occur to them that we just may be college educated and using our Islamic rights instead of living where culture is followed while their mouths say Islam is? How ignorant can a person be to state that if this religion or that religion is out of its country of origin, than that religion must not be good? Have you heard anything more ignorant?
