I am referring to how certain religious ideas close people's minds and prevent them from seeing obvious truths, or seeing things from multiple points of view.

Religion, particularly a lot of members from the Abrahamic religions (that I see), seem to have a big problem when it comes to understanding the world from multiple points of view. They see black and white when it comes to certain issues.

It seems obvious that certain issues, such as gay, or transgender issues have a scientific explanation for happening. Yet religion seems to hinder people's acceptance of these things because they aren't keeping an open mind. They are not allowing enough information to be passed through their wall of _________.

Most people within the fences of religion see it as a source of love and tolerance, and that might be mostly true. But how do we help those who are victims of ignorance?

Religious people are already blinded, and their minds are already closed.
What can we do about it? Try to educate people more, the only hope to get them out of their ignorance is education, education, education.

This happens because people are taught to believe religion at early ages. Things you learn when you're a kid sticks to you.

From my own personal experience, I think that people who start looking at religious ideas without much previous involvement, whether it be voluntary or otherwise, are open to new ideas and do not really stick to certain sets of ideas when presented with powerful opposition.

Since we really have no say in what parents do to their children when it comes to religion, we really can't do much.

yet is there a reason to think of that it is so? If we start up conversing approximately "maybes," we are able to think of up any end. in line with threat there are unicorn-driving leprechauns that masquerade as chipmunks to computer screen us until eventually the day they create forth their rule (they assassinated JFK through fact he have been given too on the brink of the fact). in line with threat there are 1000 billion gods, and that they are particularly aggravated that our backwater planet invented the telephone. in line with threat diamonds are softer than talc decrease than specific circumstances. in line with threat there is somebody who extremely can believe it is no longer butter. the element is that we are able to talk approximately "maybes" all day long, and perchance even have slightly exciting in the technique. yet, whilst the playing cards are down and we could % a thank you to stay our lives and what aspects to contemplate as real, then we could % what the data somewhat helps. the two-dimensional commonplace practitioner had a reason to think of that kidneys could be bumped off in a manner that he won't be able to %. do we've a reason to think of that there is a god? As an atheist, i hit upon the "motives to think of he exists" to be absent. The arguments by no ability postpone and the data is lacking from adventure. The universe is religiously ambiguous, and we can't wait constantly on answering the questions approximately a thank you to think of and act on the wager that some issues that issue our lives could be out of the area of human understanding.

you seem to have a broad sense of thinking when it comes to this. but actually i would want to hear your answer to your question. i for my side find it hard to search for the answers yet i keep track of my faith while living up to the world, but the way i was brought up and the way i see it right. a lot of religions offers different knowledge and impose truth in their teachings but seem to have different say on the issues of morality. Stick to what you believe in that is right, not harming other people and considering the fact of the circumstances.

first the "victims" have to want to be helped, some are content in the safety of their control. An open-mind is a difficult thing to nuture under those circumstances. I'm not sure I want to be responsible for the souls of those I enlighten, until they are able to "stand on theor own", it is more difficult than raising children

Doctrine and Dogma

The problem lies in doctrine and dogma. When you choose the answers out of a book over the answers in the real world, you are lost.
