The fact that women were inferior to men in the past is one thing, but for the bible itself to encourage such thoughts and people still look up at it is beyond me! I guess people back then who believed in the bible and oppressed women couldn't really be blamed...for they were merely following what the bible told them to do! Women were inferior as a fact of life back then, but why would God Himself encourage it? Since when did God have to set laws according to man's desire?

1 Cor. 14:34 "Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the LAW. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a SHAME for women to speak in the church."
(It is shameful for women to say anything in church??!!)

Question One:
Do you call your time of worship (or whatever) Church or a Mass?

Question Two:
What Days do you go on?

Question Three:
Is your... gospel thing called a Bible or something else?

Question Four:
I understand that you do not let anyone that isn't Mormon into the building where everyone comes to worship, but is it okay to hand out the book of holiness that you err, read?

Any other information is GREATLY appreciated. Sorry about my uh, lack of vocabulary, I did this quickly without going to a dictionary.

Crime And Punishment
Karma is there to teach, not punish.
The only reason we
are on Earth is to learn,
and Karma provides the lessons.
It would be criminal to ignore them.

Knowing that the statistics prove that people that are raped are more likely to become sexual deviants or predators we as prayer pilgrims need to pray that Elizabeth Smart will do the right thing and not carry out predatory behavior. As prayer pilgrims we need to pray that Smart will do the right thing and use her rape as a an example to combat this horrible behavior. With the Lord's power she has the ability to overcome the evil urges that she will face. Believe me we don't need another Mary Kay Letourneau!

Do you agree prayer pilgrims?

She needs to speak out on this issue and she needs to prove to the world that she will do the right thing. She owes us, the American people, at least that (especially since everything we did to get her back). :)

hahahaha I love all the claims of prejudice and discrimination in here! Most of them are based on a few peoples thoughtless comments, or the "entitlement" mentality. The thoughtless comments I can understand, but those who think they are entitled to anything because of race, color, creed, religion, or era of birth aren't going to like me at all!
All jokes aside, any form of prejudice or discrimination is wrong, and I hope that everyone shows proper respect to everyone else (which does not imply you have to agree or lose your sense of humor!). Take care of yourselves, and may tomorrow find you healthy and happy.

We all know that HAPPINESS is the opposite of SADNESS.

Happiness pretty much needs to co-exist with sadness.

A poor person eating out of the trashcan everyday suddenly being served with smoked salmon with mash potatoe would be uttermost happy, while a rich person eating it everyday wouldn't give a damn.

A poor person winning a ten million lottery would be extremely happy, but if someone won lotteries everyday they wouldn't feel anything special.

That means that a constant repetition of an emotion, in this case happiness, renders the emotion voided.

If heaven is a place where there is only happiness and absolutely no sadness, happiness in heaven will be a contant repetition of a linear emotion. This will render the emotion (happiness) void.

Winning a tennis match in heaven won't make you happy, because you always win.
Eating pizzas everyday won't be special since you can have all you want.

If you understand the core of happiness, it can't exist in heaven.

I'm ready for Armegeddon, so we need more preaching work. The society explained every scripture in Revelation and Daniel, "the end of days" explaination of why we should tell everyone to go to the Kingdom Hall three times a week.Spend every minute of every waking hour to preach the good news of the kingdom as a witness TO THE NATIONS, then the end would come. There are billions of people who aren't making it to 20 years of age before they die of something and they've never heard of Jehovah. Why can't you send all the government heads a post card that Jehovah's people are going to inherit the earth or something? My whole childhood was consumed with learning the bible so I could preach the word to everyone, let them know Jesus is coming to wipe out the wicked and all earthly governments. The more I study history, the more it seems it will repeat itself for 5,000 more years. I could have been a doctor, why do Jehovah's Witnesses still discourage college education? 93 years away from 1914

...individuals coming from different backgrounds. Not all of us approach our faith the same way, not all of us feel led to beat you over the head with a Bible? It seems like believers, in particular - Christians are generalized routinely on this forum. As if we are all just one stereo type. Not all non-believers are the same... from agnostics to atheists. Not all are bitter or "damaged". If I can acknowledge that, couldn't non-believers acknowledge the same as to Christians?

"The existence of the afterlife is not stated explicitly in the Torah itself, because as human beings we have to focus on our task in this world. Though awareness of an eternal reward can also be an effective motivator."

So what does that tell you about the New Testament? Could it be just man made fiction?

So many theist get angry that there are atheist in the R&S section, but these same people will often insist that atheism is a religion. So, using the theist logic, atheist can't be in R&S because we don't believe in god, and god is part of religion. So, people who don't believe in god can't be religious. However, they believe that atheism and evolution are godless religions, but we should not *invade* the R&S section with our godless ways. Is that right?
