Knowing that the statistics prove that people that are raped are more likely to become sexual deviants or predators we as prayer pilgrims need to pray that Elizabeth Smart will do the right thing and not carry out predatory behavior. As prayer pilgrims we need to pray that Smart will do the right thing and use her rape as a an example to combat this horrible behavior. With the Lord's power she has the ability to overcome the evil urges that she will face. Believe me we don't need another Mary Kay Letourneau!

Do you agree prayer pilgrims?

She needs to speak out on this issue and she needs to prove to the world that she will do the right thing. She owes us, the American people, at least that (especially since everything we did to get her back). :)

How dare you!!! Sexual assault victims do NOT become sexual deviants! I was sexually molested for about 5 years of my childhood. THEN I was brutally raped by a stranger at age 18. (I'm 39 now and not a pervert, sexual deviant or child molester.) I have always viewed my sexuality as being a sacred thing. And I wouldn't wish what I went through on my worst enemy or even YOU for that matter. Your rants prove NOTHING! With the love and support and counseling that Elizabeth Smart is receiving, she will be fine just as I am with the love and support I received.

Get over yourself already!

First of all, if you knew anything about that situation, you wouldn't be saying anything like this!! You have no idea what she went through during the time she was held by that lunatic!! Unless you have been there, you have no room to talk!!

What does she owe ANYONE??? She was the one that was the victim! She owes nothing, in fact, I would say that society owes her more then anything!

Oh- She is standing up and talking about it. She has even started lectures around the country to talk about what happened to her, and how to avoid having something like this happen to someone else!

Also, what did the American People do to get her back?? NOTHING!!!! Most people just shook their heads and said that she was probably dead all ready, or that she had just run away. After so long, everyone forgot about her! Once the news wasn't talking about her anymore, no one cared! Sorry to say, but to most people, she didn't even matter in their lives, just a blip on the radar screen, then nothing. Why would it matter to them? They weren't the ones out searching the woods, streets and neighborhoods for her! They weren't sitting and listening the the family cry over their little girl! Please, save us all your righteous hoopla and shut up!

She doesn't owe anyone anything... except maybe her parents for raising her...

Have you ever been raped?

If not, then sit down and shut up- Stop talking out your butt.

If you have, then you wouldn't be saying things like this. A person's experiences are exactly that- personal. What she chooses to do is also exactly that- HER CHOICE.

Unless she's shown some kind of red-flag behavior, I don't think anything needs done.

She's a reasonably bright girl. I'm sure her parents have worked with her, helped her see the reality of the experience (that she was a victim, not to be blamed for anything), and encouraged her to make wise choices (both in personal safety, and chosen attitude).

She was a victim and owes you and America absolutely nothing. We are supposed to protect children and not exploit them the way you are. You owe her an apology and should worry about yourself. If you really looked at statistics, you would see the vast majority of child predators are male and the majority of victims are female.

You want to prevent more rapes, especially of children? Throw the predators in jail for life instead of giving them probation and therapy. It doesn't work. They repeat their crimes at an alarming rate. Get rid of the judges that feel sorry for the animals.

God Bless.

I'm not certain the phrase "She owes us" is correct, moral or even decent in the light of how you present it. Ms Smart only 'owes' it to herself to to heal and overcome her trauma, and if you had the common sense, you'd realize that too. This young women owes nothing to anyone to justify her release and current well-being. She is grateful, I'm sure, to be with her family.

What did you do personally to help find her that she now owes you some kind of debt? What is the 'right thing' you require of her? If there is anything 'owed' at this point, it would be an apology from you for your self-righteous rant of 'morality'.

Maybe since you have mental deficits you should be the spokesmodel for the Special Olympics. You need to speak out and prove to the world that people with mental deficits can be productive members of society. Believe me, we don't need another mentally challenged person wandering the streets with nothing to do. You need to speak out on this issue and prove to the world that people with mental deficits are doing all they can to be productive. You owe us, the American people, at least that (especially since you weren't aborted, unfortunately).

You're right! At this point we can only pray that she decides to use her rape as a cause to help prevent rape in America today.
