Karma is there to teach, not punish.
The only reason we
are on Earth is to learn,
and Karma provides the lessons.
It would be criminal to ignore them.

I think this statement has merit, and I do believe in karma as a very real force. But I do think karma is capable of punishment. Bad things will eventually catch up to bad individuals. Do no harm, as the Wiccans say, and your karma will be kind to you.
